Mvp?
Should a player win the MVP award if his team does not make the playoffs? I realize that Howard with the Phillies is having the best year of anyone, but if his team does not make the playoffs I am not sure he should get the MVP. If I were a sports writer and was allowed a vote I would limit it to players from playoff teams. What year was it that Andre Dawson won the NL MVP when the Cubs finished dead last in the division? I know that they give it to a guy who is having the best year, but I think a player who gets his team to the playoffs is more valuable to his team.
Vote Pujols! (hopefully the Redbirds make it, Astros just scored two in the top of the fifth)

If the Astros made it and the Phillies didn't I would say Berkman as well. Either the Cards or the Astros will make it and not both, so whoever makes it has a better candidate than San Diego, LA, or the Mets. I think the player from those three teams that deserves it the most is David Wright, good numbers, but not Pujols or Berkman numbers.
Hopefully since Milwaukee is out of the race and have nothing to gain they will pitch to Pujols with people on base. (Cards down 4-0 in the second)

I don't think it necessarily has to go to a playoff team. I think it should be between Oswalt, Webb, and Zambrano. If Houston makes it I think Oswalt is the front runner.

Zambrano is a good one, I grew up with the cubs, my dad is die hard (makes for drama when the cubs come to town)
