Default BEST...shoulda' woulda' NFL teams

What are your three tops one sin this catagory?

So they did not make it to the Superbowl and got snuffed out by a team that might not have been better or was CLEARLY not better. You have tell why also...

Here are my three...

1. 1971 KC Chiefs, lost to Miami and then Miami got killed by Dallas in the 1972 Superbowl. Chiefs had lost the 'longest playoff game' ever played by only a field goal. It was clearly the best Chiefs team ever put together, even better than the '69 team that had won the Superbowl with Mike Garrett. Chiefs could have won the Superbowl a second time

2. 1976 Baltimore Colts, and I do realize I am saying they had lost to the winners of the Superbowl in the playoffs (Raiders) on a Dave Casper catch in overtime. But the Colts were awsome that year...that playoff game could have gone either way.

3. 1976 Dallas Cowboys, they would have been a far better team than the Vikings. They could have played the Raiders...or anyone else from the AFC much closer than the damn Vikings did.

1993 Houston Oilers, biggest choke ever against the soon to choke Buffalo Bills. That Oiler team could have won the superbowl.

Oh my gosh, I forgot them...that was horrible and Houston was good that year.

I was actually at that game...strange story and it WAS REALLY COLD that day in Buffalo, that was just after Desert Storm had started in Kuwait.

One of the Darkest Days in the history of Houston. I still have a hard time with it.

The 2005 Colts implosion at the end of the year. They lost two of the last three regular season games and then lost to the Steelers, who they pounded earlier in the year. They even had a chance to tie at the end of the game and the most accurate place kicker in NFL history missed the kick badly.

With their weak defense this year (LB's who weigh 225-235 lbs) look for them to wear down again at the end of this year. Tons of offensive talent, one of the best offensive units to ever play in the NFL, but they consistently fail to get it done when it counts most.

Was having beers with a guy at O Hare waiting for a plane watching the MN/Buffalo game when coming home today...the guy said something about this when we were talking football and I have to say last year was VERY bad frot he Colts...they lost a lot of credit and rep by having this happen.
