What I saw last night.

I honestly did not think I was going to stick around the whole game but it did get interesting and recovering from the stomach flu I really was not going anywhere except my couch and the TV anyway.

I have never seen two teams play so "Jekyl and Hyde" from half to half. It was like some witch had come in at the half and switch the uniforms on the teams.

It did bode well for Brady Quinn, he had a terrible first half abut was able to pull it together to make some very impressive offensive drives in the second half (especially the forth quarter). I thought the QB for State failed them badly in the forth, the kid looked terribly confused and got them in some real jams. I am not sure what State was looking for but 1st downs seemed not to be it. They really needed to just take as much time on the field as possible and that was not happening at all.

Notre Dame still has a great deal of work to do.

Mich St has a lot of work to do if they are going to let down like that at home, pretty messy loss to take at home. They could easily end up with four or five losses in the big ten playing that way.

Michigan State was trying to burn the clock to early. I think they went away from what got them the lead, plus the Irish did not help them out with turnovers like they did in the first half.

First half they had two turnovers that led to fourteen points. Interception return for a touchdown and a fumble at the fifty which would lead to another score. The Irish should be given some credit for playing with some composure in the second half. Hopefully it is a turning point. They should pound Purdue next week to get them back on track. If an offense can't move the ball against Purdue then it has some serious problems that are beyond help.

I am giving ND credit, though they can't keep getting in a hole like that. There are too many good teams on their schedule ahead better than Mich St. I thought the Spartans were going to be better than that, they folded in the second half and credit should be given to the Irish for seeing the door open and being persistent to get through before the clock ticked off.

The Mich St crowd sure did not help their home team. Those fans were absolutely dead when State was still up and ND was coming back. That was pathetic, the Spartan 'faithful' were the worst 'performers' of them all last night. Maybe Mich St needs to find a new set of fans...
