I know, but we aren't viewing these players based on just this year, if we were then Chipper Jones, Lance Berkmann and Chase Utley would have these two beat.

Over the course of the past five years I think Rodriguez has had a much better lineup around him, with one future HOF member hitting in front of him.

What I do know is the line that won the series for the Cardinals did well to take them to two WS and won one. That line up got old while Pujols was easily the youngest of the bunch; Rolen and Edmonds just plain wore out. I am not sure Rodriguez has had this same thing happen around him.

If it is the 9th and you are behind with 2 on with two outs Pujols IS THE GUY I would wnat at the plate...no question. No one can hit in those siutations like him and his fielding is as good as anyone...he made a wonderful grab to his right the other night that shut down a Dodger rally.
No one can handle Pujols, except for maybe his wife.
I close my eyes and plug my ears when he comes to the plate.

I would take Jeter's numbers over Eckstein's.

And Posada over Matheny or Molina's.
And Soriano/Cano's over Vina/second base by committee.
And Matsui over RF by committee.

The Yankee pitching is what holds them back.
I totally agree.
The Yanks need some younger arms that have not peaked.
