Default NCAA bracket...

First...

I love that Tenn got bumped out of the SEC finals by Arkansas. So everyone who said TN was #1 and had such a strong conference which made them so great? UH...they did not even get to the finals of their own tourney. It turns out to be Arkansas and Georgia. And, if Goergia wins it will bump other teams down further proving that the SEC is not that strong in basketball.

Texas vs Kansas is a key game to the brackets tomorrow.

Tn of no Tn Memphis has locked up up a rightful #1 seed and TN did not. Both teams have proved where they are.

My dream, early 'spoiler' match up is for Pitt to be put in UCLA's bracket and then Pitt wins. Man, I want to see that happen.

My Alma Mater (Syracuse) is in all liklyhood, out of the tourny for the 2nd year in a row. last your they were robbed...this year it is legit

Every year..Friends and I pick a dark horse / Spolier at the beginning of the season, to get in and knock off some high seated teams in the early rounds, and the results are for drinks and bragging rights

This year, my pick was St Marys, and I was right on track till the lost to San Diego in the conference toury (Grrrrrrrrrr)

Still, with 6 losses they still might get an invite....a long shgot...but it5 could happen

If not,,,,my pick will be Cal State Fullerton to come from a 13th or 14th slot to cause some top seats some greif

CSUF looks a hell of a lot better than they used to and could knock out a five seed...but then again I watched that final between them and Irvine (I am not sure how much that says). I grew up 8 minutes from CSUF, they have had some pretty bad basketball there over the years.

Thing is, and what had made the NCAAs so cool in recent years, is the narrowing of the gap that has come to pass between the former "haves" and the "have nots"

I am wiating for the 1st #16 seed to knock off a #1 seed.
On the right night, it could happen

Cant wait to see the brackets

Well, we have arrived.

This time Memphis has the WORST/TOUGHEST bracket by far.

They have (rounds):

1. Texas-Arlington (this is a win)

2. Oregon or Miss State (both are good teams that can upset Memphis)

3. probably Pittsburgh or Michigan State (ouch, this is very tough)

4. probably Stanford or Texas (tough again and Texas vs Memphis is not one I want to have to watch---TX being my alma mater)

5. probably Duke or UCLA (very tough)

Now, last year Memphis was not favored to beat both Nevada and Texas A&M (then lost to Ohio State in the elite eight). This is a better Memphis team this year.

My third team, North Carolina, has the easiest bracket and the only team that can stop them on that side is Kansas.

I don't think any of the #1 or #2 seeds are all that dominant. I'd be looking for someone like Gonzaga to go all the way.

The Panthers are pretty tough. I wouldn't mind seeing that happen.

Pitt is a very good team and did a number on Georgetown. If Memphis does not get past Pitt there is nothing more that I would like to see than Pitt destroying UCLA, it would be justice to see Pitt take out a Ben Howland team (he jumped ship from Pitt in very crappy way).

I'd forgotten that Howland used to coach Pitt. He's a pretty good coach, tho.
