Stanford is totally lousy. All of their stars had to align perfectly the day they beat USC. Especially since you can't BUY a call in the Coliseum.

The new system, as poor as it is, has had the best two teams playing for the natioanl title more than the old system.

A playoff system would have been perfect this year. As a final four we could have USC,Georgia,WVU, and the winner of LSU/OSU. Would have been great.

I think it's asking too much of 19 & 20-year olds.

As I'm sure you're aware, the lower divisions in college football all have a playoff system, 19 & 20 year olds. Why not division 1A ?

You know the difference between a playoff between USC and Texas and, say, Pawtucket State and Slippery Rock A&M. If not, you should spend a New Year's Eve at Caesar's Palace.

Football is football, no matter who plays it. If you were trying to avoid intensity you wouldn't be playing (or watching) football in the first place.

Hawaii in over their heads?? Hell, Oklahoma's defense looked as if they were standing still against West Virginia!!

That was as ugly as any game I've seen....
