Adrian Peterson....
Is a BEAST!! 296 yards rushing, the new record!!
I must admit, I was somewhat skeptical of Peterson (his "seemingly" fragile health). So far, so good!! He is also sitting at 1,036 yards at eight games. He is on pace to break Eric Dickerson's rookie rushing record of 1,808 yards, and his NFL single season record of 2,105 yards.
Can he do it??

When is he expected to return?
He is the only hope for the Vikings (that and firing their crappy head coach).

Well, what a shame....
He was tearing it up. Hopefully he can come back and pick back up where he left off.

Kind of tells you something about him though.
Durability is important.
I mean he is a rook and out with an injury?

Peterson is cooked, he had this same vulnerabilty to injury at Oklahoma. I watched him a lot because of watching Texas games. Peterson is amazing but snaps like twig; he was sidelined three (maybe even four) times at OU. His days in the NFL are numbered, this latest injury is the worst one of them all and it is not in the %s for him to fully recover to the speed he has had in the past.

Wow. A history of it too?
That is bad because running back is notoriously dangerous. They take a hell of a beating and usually only last five years on the average.
Well. No matter what that was a hell of a performance.

Yes, Peterson is an amazing athlete but has been knocked out of games numerous times for what would seem to be a routine play/hit other running backs can handle.
Willie Ellison set that same record with the Los Angeles Rams in 1972 and suffered the same fate (the old Rams of blue and white unis). It was not until they had Lawrence McCutchin did they have 'durable running' back. Ellison retired earlier than expected because of getting beat up.
Whether you like or hate OJ Simpson he set this record too but was very durable through the entire 70s and part of the 1980s. And, that was with a typically unsupportive Bills team of that era.

Hey, don't get me wrong here. I wish the guy could heal up and be able to play a lot more, he is exciting to watch. But, facts are facts when it comes to the human body and the way some people get injured. Peterson is just not made to be hit hard; he is not the way Larry Brown, Walt Garrison, or Earl Campbell were in terms of taking a real beating on the field. Peterson might make a good backs coach(?), who knows.
