Big Game?
Today's big game between the Colts and Patriots, We in Houston get to watch the 3-5 Texans take on the 2-5 Raiders...BFD. Just for the record, I'm taking the Patriots over the Colts.

Just for the record I am taking no one...I think this will be an interesting game that is too tough to call GB.

It was a good game. If the Colts had Harrison they win by ten. Not only was Harrison out but Gonzales was hurt. I thought the Patriots may run away with this one but I think if they play again (no matter where it is) that the Colts win if everyone is healthy. If the Colts offense could have moved the chains a couple more times, and they would have with Harrison, then the defense isn't on the field nearly as much in the second half. The Patriots showed they are one dimensional and the Colts aren't. I think the Colts did pretty damn good with only two offensive weapons . . . wait until Harrison is healthy.

Thank you, Dom Dungy. Your whole post is full of excuses for the Colts losing, injuries are part of the NFL. I do agree if they played again, in Indy, the Colts would have a good chance of winning. However if they play in Foxboro, it's all about the Patriots. The Pats did a great job coming from 10 down, on a hostile field, that can't be taken away.

Not excuses, a reason. If Harrison is in the game they can't clamp down on Wayne and in case you haven't noticed, Harrison/Manning is a pretty good combo that nobody has been able to stop for the past several years. They went with Moorehead who not only can't run patterns, is not fast, but can't really catch all that well. Have you ever seen the Colts play? Have you ever seen Marvin Harrison play?
The Patriots did do a good job, but if Marvin Harrison is healthy then the Colts win this game. The Colts basically slapped the Patriots defensive line around with the run game and making the Patriots play man on either Wayne or Harrison makes their passing game much better.
I don't even like the Colts, my team is the Browns. I did however watch the game and if you did then you would have noticed the Colts did not have their entire pass package in the game because Harrison was out. If you haven't heard he is pretty good.

Well, my guess is....if they do play again, it's going to be in Foxboro. And I'll take the Patriots in that one....independent of whether or not the Colts have Harrison, Gonzales, etc.

If they do play in Foxboro I hope it is snowing and extremely cold. It would help to have a running game in that type of weather and only one of those teams have one.

Actually you are right where I am on this. There was a VERY KEY pass (for a first down) dropped by the replacement for Harrison, a pass that Harrison would not have dropped at that point in a pivotal fourth quarter set of plays. Those are the little things in certain key spots of a game which is this tight and that important. One play can turn the game on a dime and I think this is a spot that certainly did not help the Colts. Yes, one player does help.
It was a very good game none the less but the Patriots best be VERY prepared if they have to face the Colts again in the playoffs. The Pats deserve this win and really did hang in there, they are quite good but I am not convinced they could beat the Colts again.

With the Colts offense they are NEVER out of a game. This is their first game this season where the opposition can score points, and really hurt you, just like Manning can. Actually I thought it would be a 75-80 point game.
It was a good game, but if they played 10 more times it would probably be 5-5. Also it may be a good thing that the Colts lost one. Sometimes, weather you admit it or not, you start to believe all the hype about how good you are.
They WILL meet again in the playoffs, and that should also be a great game.

Manning to Harrison is a good team. However, Harrison would not have done anything (directly) to stop the Pats from scoring 14 pts in about 9 mins.
Both the defenses are a lot stouter than I thought they were. Never thought a Pat/Colts game would be a defensive struggle.
