OU won't.
It will be Ohio State, that is a very easy choice.
I will tell you this, Kentucky should easily be in the top 7, certainly above USC. USC should not be any higher than 15 (at the VERY best)..

Why would they be that high? USC is down for the count.

Cat, on another thread you tried to use the comparison of USC to Wisconsin, and WHY exactly USC is ranked higher than Wisconsin. I think you and I know why USC is given the benefit of the doubt in the rankings while teams like Wisconsin are not given the same benefit.
As was shown today, teams like Wisconsin have the propensity to fold late in the season, while teams like USC, who have won their fair share of national championships, win (as ugly as it may be), they won.
Neither Cal nor Oregon have won the big game of recent memory, so they are also not afforded the same benefit as USC. All Cal and Oregon have to do to gain respect is to beat the top dog in the Pac 10, and that dog is still USC (as governed by the respect through the championships they have won).

Is the ranking system always fair?? Nope, but, for now, it is what it is....

As to USC, they are still pretty good. I think they will beat California and will go into a BSC bowl with one loss.

OU would smoke OSU (and I'm a Buckeye). The Big Ten is weak, and the Buckeyes will once again prove to be TOO SLOW. We didn't learn much from the Florida game I'm afraid.

Your point is not missed but...
USC NEVER played Auburn or LSU during the those two years of NCs, therefore we did not know if USC folded or not. USC did fold against Texas when #1 & 2 TRULY played, when truly playing the #2 team they showed not to hold up. Auburn WAS a better team and got robbed when Oklahoma played USC, Oklahoma WAS NOT that good at all...they got a benefit of the doubt because of #s of NCs, that was wrong too. This year they were ranked pre-season #1 and now have folded. It has been since 1972 that USC has been an undisputed NC, everything since has been in midst of a another team that is undefeated...these are teams who are heavyweights like LSU (2004), Auburn (2003), Alabama (1978), and Oklahoma (1974). This for me does not make a great case for USC being as dominant as sports writers would like to imagine them to be. They were a great team during the years of John McKay, Mike Garrett, OJ Simpson, and Anthony Davis (sat alone in 1962, '67, and '72) but times have changed.

I just watched the end of the Cal game, 31-28 Oregon State wins thanks to a terrible mistake at the end by Cal's second string QB. So, Cal will be moving down.
