Taking into consideration that the US/allies lack the resources needed to secure the country itself, which has left most all of southern Afghanistan in Al-Qaeda control. Focusing on the apprehension of just one individual asshole, no matter his position, would just be a stupid thing to do.

Your an idiot..."hype up the dead"? As far as Bin Laden goes, no one ever said he was not still wanted, but we do not have free reign over much of Afghanistan/Pakistan where Bin Laden is surely very much supported.

No we don't, most of southern Afghanistan is controlled by Al-Queda and we certainly don't have control over Pakistan. Look, bottom line...putting all of our resources into the capture of one person would be insane, regardless of his position within the organization. Bin Ladens' capture would certainly be a bonus, but it wouldn't be the end game to the war at hand.
