I agree that it is not a competition for power. As long as both partners agree on the final decision, no problem. I am a little insulted by the assertion that women can't make rational based decisions.

It is not that they can not but women are emotional and less rational at times and men are rational and less emotional at times that is why when paired they make such a good team. Not everyone can be a quarter back then he can not win a game by himself. hmmmmmmmm It is all about balance and embracing the strengths common to your gender not trying to comepet and become the other or something you are not. I never could understand why a woman could get so upset about being a mother and a house wife. For her strenght lies in guiding and raising our children on top of a whole slew of vital skills. For it is the lack of house wives that has reared several generations of crap kids that turn into crap adults. I see like this the mom is the backbone that creates, nurtures, guides and builds healthy adults and the father is the support structure that protects this that is most important. That is kind of metaphoricaly speaking there is a lot more to it but you get the just. It in no way makes either smarter or better yada yada yada. Take me for example when I was in the military my strength lied as a subordanant leader not the leader. I had no qualms with it or envy or regrets. I exceled like no other in many ways but only because I found and accepted my gift. Every team needs a leader to give the orders and someone to carry them out. I was no good at being in the rear with the gear and was best leading from the front...... The feminist movement got off course when it stopped fighting for womens rights to be treated equal and went down the path of trying to make women something other than what they were born and that is women. Women should hold their head high because no man can do what they can nor can any woman do what a man can. It is that simple but their are many out there then and especialy now that still believe they can change or control nature itself. How nieve they are

There is no absolutes in anything I think we all can contest to that. I and many I know through my life have made many rational decisions amongst a flury of emotion brought on by tragedy.
