Bases of hatred is fear
When someone is spouting forth hatred, they are generally afraid. INsecure with whom they are, they have to attack someone in order to make themselves feel good about what they are. Be they lacking in education or knowledge, a good job, etc., they are after approval is all.

i think that hatred which is based, senseless hatred, does come from a sense or need to overcome the unknown that threatens to overcome you. But, hatred can also be built out of anger and betrayal. I mean, when your best friend fucks your wife, I don't think its a fear of the unknown that explains why you stuck your foot up his ass knee deep.

Hatred isn't so bad.
It's a necessary emotion. Now some of it springs from ignorance. For example, hatred of different races or sexualities. It's ignorance, and fear as you say.
But I hate many things, as a result of neither.
I hate religion, because it fucks our society.
I hate racists, because they are ignorant caustic fucks.
I hate rapists, because what they do is evil.
Knowing somethings nature and hating it isn't ignorant or fearful. Better to define oneself on what one hates than on what one loves, because hate is what changes things. Hating evil things makes one a good person.
Hate is what gets things done.

Hatred is the stepchild of ignorance and cousin to the twins envy and jealousy. Hatred depends on fear and distrust and its allies cruelty and revenge, which support and protect it; and it cannot live but in the company of misery. Hatred is always in a stew over something, seething slowly, until it froths over in a venomous broil, poisoning all it touches and making a ruin of everything. To harbor hatred is to shut out all that is good leaving room for only what is bad. Hatred assumes many forms, but it cannot be disguised for it has the stench of corruption about it.

Well said, but many people fear or hate the unknow. Most people resist change when it takes them out of their confort zone.

I'm never in a "comfort zone" so I have to assimilate and acclimate to everywhere that I go.
