its nothing new on our part. many of us come from England (Bloody Mary), Spain (Inquisition), Russia (Ivan, Peter III), Italy (Rome/Vatican), ect

and even with non-lethal tactics there is still permanent internal damage and severe psychological damage as well.

Under torture one will betray any so called truths they had. Truths like information, loving someone, or even not believing in magic will all go out the window when the body is tortured. It always works, they always get the info they're looking for when they're looking for it, and most importantly they always unmake the victim's world. They can get them to think 2+2=5 or betray their loved ones or countrymen. It works 100%

no it doesn't. people lie under torture. if you want someone to lie you don't need to torture them.

thats why I pointed out the witchcraft thing. most of those people weren't doing magic. they said they were witches to end torture.
they lied.

torture doesn't gather good intel. it gathers lies.

Being able to get someone to agree to something is part of the unmaking of their world. However, don't confuse the situation, they never lie once. Their world is unmade, they're completely absolved of a cohesive language. They can't think thoughts with the ease you and I think thoughts. Of course they are confused, admit to anything to tell them to, sign anything you want; but they also ALWAYS give up everything first, information, their loved ones, everything. They go to EVERY possible length to save themselves and bring their sense of world back to them

I (hopefully) don't even have to list the ethical and moral issues with it.

Torture doesn't work against innocent people, they will say what they think torturers want to hear. Torture can work against those who have information that needs to be extracted.

Novices? Hardly:
Here you see a man with electric wires wrapped around his fingers, being forced to stand on a box, else face further punishment and torture.

In this photo, you can see they're stripping the prisoners (and as you can see in dozens of other photos) using these dogs to bite the naked prisoners

Afterwards they force these men into giant gay naked piles, which offends them even more than it offends us

I think we know what the fuck we're doing.

This isn't true. All information is attained. Afterwards, the torture victim begins to offer to betray things they don't even care about. Take my kids, take my wife, kill the other guy in the torture room next to me. Torture WORKS AGAINST EVERYONE. The goals of torture are ALWAYS met with the execution of torture, be it to extract information or just unmake someone's world to then rebuild it. It works.
