Where do you live BD?

Wherever I've ever lived in the South there's a church on every block, kinda like in Seattle or Portland with their coffee shops.

You don't need a church to believe in God.

Amen to that. God is in the details, the world around us. We are part of God, and God is part of us. Don't believe me? Well, we were created in the image of God, and second to this, Christian dogma allows of the existence of the Holy Spirit taking up residence in the heart of mankind.

The God of Jesus is seperate from humanity in the same way that a carpenter is seperate from the house he built. God made us. He is eternal, we had a beginning, He did not. Our life came from His hands, but we are not Him. It sounds like you are blending eastern religions and Christianity.

The image of God in us is not a replica or extension of the Divine nature but rather an impression, a copy of certain qualities on a limited, finite scale. We are similar in character, but infinitely different in kind. In Christianity, man and God are not ontologically the same being.

The Holy Spirit takes residence in the heart of believers but He is a seperate entity. Consider this, if we are God (or part of Him) how is it that the Holy Spirit has to come into us? Should He not be there already if we are part of God? There is a distinction between us and God.
