Default Religion Fit You or You Fit Religion

Hey, I was just wondering what your viewpoints are when it comes to religion. Do you all think that one should conform to his or her religion or should one search for a religion that conforms around them? (I know where I stand but just curious on your all viewpoints).

Long history of both happening...I am not convinced either should or should not happen...but it is dangerous (downfall of cultures) if either happens to an extreme...I will have to come back later and write...

Neither, people should find their spirituallty on their own terms in my opinion. I'll use myself as an example. I don't consider myself religious but do consider myself spiritual. I don't think any one religion tells the whole story but I believe they all have something positive to offer. I have been looking into different religion over the past year and have found that most religions are much more similiar than what people think. What seems to be different are the popular interpretations of each.

I was raised in a Pennicostal (Spelling?) family which claimed everything was pretty much wrong but I don;t really beleive in their interpretation. When I read the Bible I see things there that seems to described things in other religions such as Hinduism and Buddhism.

I think if you conform to a religion or find a religion that conforms around them, you are selling yourself short either way. If you conform to a religion you may be limiting yourself by not seeing whats out there or gaining other persepctives. If you find a religion that conforms to you, you're probably not truly seeking anything, just others that may believe the same as you, you don't learn anything IMO.

Religion is where thing go wrong. Let me try to explain
I believe in God and the Bible and have asked Jesus for forgivness and to be saved. That makes me born again
Christianity is a religion that follows Christ which in itself is a good thing. The bad happens when peopletake that belief system and start heading therer seperate ways making denominations. Then they start setting up a church government, making by laws, having business meeting so on and so fort till they forget what their purpose is. The spreading of the Word of God
You need to conform to what the Bible says but conforming to a Religion can be dangerous.
While you need people of the same faith to help you along, instilling doctrine gets messy.
If you just do what God tells you (through the Bible and His Spirit) you then become the Christian that he wants you to be not tha t the church wants you to be.
On the other note finding a religion that conforms to you is hypoctirical, If it conforms to you then what is the point?
I read a line in a book that puts it best
"You must remember that it's not about you"

People need to realize that Church is not the building, demonitation, or doctrine but the people that are the Body of Christ.
"Where two or more are gathered In my name I will be there."
It doesn't say you need doctrine or a building

How about studying and seeing which one is true? Kinda like faith based in evidence.
