What is your thought or opinion?
What do ya'll think about Christians?
I'm not talking about Christianity here but the people who practice the religion.
What do ya'll think when someone tells you they're a Christian?
What do ya'll think of Christians as a whole?
I want your input. This is not a bait thread and I am not going to argue with you. I just want your honest opinions.
This is research that I am doing, and with ya'll being anonymous and all I figured that I could get some real honest from the heart answers.
Please keep this on topic and try to be civil.

I like and dislike others based on how they treat me and others. Saying that they are one religion or another is not enough proof for me. I feel that many that claim to be Christian have been deceived by false teachers and rarely read their scriptures. However, all sin no matter what so I must leave judgement to The Lord. I just do not associate with immoral people reguardless of their religious beliefs. I would really love to one day live in a truly Christian community that ignores the evil culture of this world and support each other- help keep each other in line. We have no right to force our views on those who do not agree, so we should seperate ourselves into eccleastical communities where we can build each other up and bare witness to each other. Not that we should be seperate in all ways but since the general public is far from moral why sink with them? Why allow ourselves to be influenced by those with different goals? Non-believers should be loved as well- but so should enemies of the faith.
THe problem in my opinion is when someone tries to have it both ways- one cannot be a true Christian and still "fit in" with the consensus of society in general.

This is a tough one for a Muslim to answer right now. Truthfully they don't worry me as people. As a movement they scare me. Christians on their own seem to be able to understand that not all Muslims want America to die and sacrifice themselves, but the movement scares me. I think as a whole they are the most intolerant religion I have ever seen. I think that they refuse to acknowledge validity in anything that is not their faith. I think they follow blindly and research only to support their own beliefs. I think they are a very violent sect. Every generation of christians since the time of Christ has believed that their was the one that the rapture would come in and as such they seem to have been preparing for armageddon for two thousand years. I understand many will take offense to this, but Islam did not set itself up as oppsed to Christians. The colonial tendencies of the Christian nations gave birth to the hate. Don't mistake me Muslims did their share of vicious attacks through history. But forced conversion was never their M.O. The crusades, inquisition, settleing the Americas these were forced conversions. Death was the price of non-conversions. There were a couple of times Muslims did this, but it was always a psycho leader and not the norm. Muslims now are more violent. But once again it is the psycho few not the norm. I'm sorry I know I'm stepping on toes. I know that some people will argue, but for once this is my opinion. I will not argue back. I am entilted to it. I do not dislaike someone simply because they are Christian. Like I said the movement scares me. The individuals don't.

Bark I wanted your thoughts on what goes through your head when someone says they are a Christian. You views on the movement are interesting but I already kind of knew your views on Christianity as a whole.
Sorry if I confused you.

When someone tells me they are christian, there is no fear in me. I walk amongst them everyday. It does not worry me and truth is I have SOOO many more Christian friends than Muslims it is rediculous. I have always dated Christians. I think I have dated one Arab girl and she was Christian. I have no anymosity toward them. When someone tells me they are Christian I fell nothing different at all.

The reason I ask is I once asked someone the same question. The response I got was "when someone tells me that they are a Christian or born again I think I instantly think that they are intolerant hypocrits that think they are better than everyone else."
I then got curious to know what other people thought.

I do not generalize about people especially a broad group of people such as Christians. (I was curious on a different thread you impled people leaning left was religiosphobic.) I know a lot of people and their poliitical party does not seem to align them with being religious or non religious. The Democrats I know... probably most are Christians as republicans are but it is such an individual personal issue that I cannot understand generalizations.
I do believe religious affiliation does not have any bearing on your inner moral core. Most Christians I know talk mostly about securing their place in heaven. The muslims I work with are peaceful but do not talk about their religion publicly but do pray and practice throughout even their work day.
I think people are so individual how their faith effects them and how they interpret what they believe their holy books to say they are all different.
