Default First Amendment/Religious Rights

Just because the First Amendment says we have freedom of religion, but this does not mean we do. Sure, sure. We are allowed to have a free choice of whichever God we chose to worship according to the government, but does this truley mean that in the face of the Americans living here we are free to? Hah. Absolutly not. I am a Christian, but living in a Democratic state such as Delaware, I am under constant persecution of my religion. The Atheists of this place don't seem to understand the First Amendment. Sure, the Bible says that we will always be persecuted for being Christian, but in America in this day and age? I don't mind defending my religion, but when the Democrats and the Atheists constantly tell me I don't know what I'm talking about, I just want to do something I'll regret later. I pray I don't.

You ask in what ways am I persecuted? A list, I show you:

1. People constantly tell me that there are thousands of other books that were "omitted" from the bible that explain how everything else in the bible is a lie.

2. I'm referred to as "retarded" for believing that an omnipresent being could possibly be watching over us.

3. Several of my peers mock my beliefs such as how I refuse to lie, steal, or curse.

4. Atheists refuse to let me even SPEAK about my religion without constatly threatening me with things like, "You believe there is such thing as Hell? Well, just because you do, you're going there." I mean, does that even make SENSE?

5. The phrase "I'm going to crucify you" has popped up in more than one conversation in my life.

And there are plenty of others I have forgotten over the years as new ones keep showing up, but I think I've made my point. Granted, the bible told us Christians that we would be persecuted for our beliefs, but I'm just not comfortable with the amount of Atheism in this country. I don't care what you believe in...just believe in something, for your own sake.

Thumbs down I disagree

Do you happen to flaunt your Christianity? Do you happen to make Atheists feel like ? If you answered either of these questions as a yes then you have your answer. Atheists think that if a Hell does exist they may have a one way ticket there. (Though Michigan is nice this time of year) When you flaunt your religion, others respond in kind. Also, knowing you Russophile, you will immediately strike out at anything remotely imperfect when it comes to your godly morales. Look at it from the "non-believers" point of view. Have you seen god? That is the driving force behind many of atheists ideas. In addition, look at the atrocities done in the name of religion. Crusades, bombings, wars, blood feuds, human sacrifice. The list goes on.

Well, tell those people to fuck off (or....take off...if you find the first choice a tad crude).

That's too bad. People have as much right to be atheist as they do to be religious.

Ok, first off...Starky, shut up or I'll get Mandusa to kick you in your balls on monday. Secondly, you stole that Michigan quote from me, so give credit where credit is due. And third, I wouldn't flaunt my Christianity if the Atheists didn't make ME feel like first off. And Norman, I know that the Atheists have just as much of a right to be here, and I honestly do respect that...but as a human being it just kind of pissed off that they would rather criticize me rather than at least try tosee my point of view. No offense Starky, but you now understand why I have no pity for you when Mandusa attacks you. Hahaha.

You don't have a right to not be offended. Find some Christian friends, and let it go. You can not control the feelings and speech of another person. Which is also protected under the 1st Amendment.

Most atheists could care less about criticizing your religion. Christians remind me, in these situations of that song where they say "you probably think this song is about you?". atheists don't care about religion, thats the definition of atheism. im an atheist and your religion doesnt concern me, its logical fallacies and hypocritical messages dont phase me. it isnt my job to read your book and tell you why its stupid...
