Default Protestants are Catholics

Has anyone ever contemplated the fact that Protestants are actually Catholic? The Vatican arranged the New Testament and Martin Luthor, being a Catholic himself originally, just rearranged his own interpretations keeping basically the same sacraments as a lower group of Catholic worship.
No one knew how to read back then so who was keeping tabs on the books besides the Catholics?

Yes and Democrats are actually Republicans.

Had you said both Catholics and Protestants were Christian I think you might have been on to something.

The Protestants can't claim a real separateness from the Catholic religion seeing as their religion (which is Christianity) was born out of Catholicism (also Christianity).

The Catholics were the keeper of the faith for 1600 years prior to the Protestants branching off. Anyone who claims to be a Protestant also claims a heritage of 1600 years of the Catholic faith....and the history of the Pope.

Default protestants as catholics

Catholic religion being the first christian church is still exalted as the one
true church in the episcopal mass and it why the methodists and lutheran
churches are adopting the same sacraments and conforming more as a
branch of the catholic faith. They are as you say a breakoff to the original

Exactly right folks and Jan has said it well.

Ever listened to some self righteous Protestant harp on and on about the false teachings of the Catholic faith and wondered if they even have a clue that is where they got their own doctrine from?

They haven't got a clue , they think its all straight from Christ when in actuality most Protestant and the Catholic faith have taken some pretty big leaps outside the teachings of the original scriptures . Go figure
