Men wrote the bible and they wrote it the way people of the time understood the world. God inspired the main messages , but many of the expressions and off color words of the day were mens .

You also miss the fact that God must open your understanding so that you can understand the scriptures . Without God helping you to understand you cannot see or understand what is in the bible . Its all greek to you as the saying goes.

People believe a myth that any and all can come to God , that is not what the bible says . The bible says no man can come to Christ unless God draws him. The sheep hear his voice and understand . Those not called , cannot understand .

The bible is a wonderful book , full of knowledge of the world and universe , people like you just do not know where to find it. Its a shame because you haven't got a clue what your missing .

anyone who has actually studied history with an emphasis in ancient cultures and religions knows that man created "god" in his own image. nearly all ancient civilizations have developed their own creation myth, and the genesis story is just the one that happened to have been adopted by one particular tribe of middle eastern herders. it has no more special status than the belief of a particular west african tribe that the world was created from the excrement of ants.

if the bible is mistaken in telling us where we came from, how can we trust it to tell us where we're going?

reasoning = thinking that is coherent and logical
logical = capability for correct and valid reasoning
valid = well grounded in logic or truth
truth = a fact that has been verified

My scriptures encourage me to seek for truth. the Bible has lost some of the plain and simple truths that the Lord would have us know. Here is a quote from some scripture;

"Now the Lord had shown unto me, Abraham, the intelligences that were organized before the world was; and among all these there were many of the noble and great ones;"
This was the Lord speaking to Abraham about the spirits that were coming to this earth.
That does not seem to me that he wants us to be ignorant or stupid. I believe that we are here to gain knowledge. Here is another quote;

"And if a person gains more knowledge and intelligence in this life through his diligence and obedience than another, he will have so much the advantage in the world to come"

Look up understanding or truth or knowledge in the Bible. You might find a bit more about the subject of intelligence.

On a side note. There are some organized religions that want you to be stupid so that they can control your thinking. That is what happened before our great friend Gutenberg, and the great Dark Ages.

My belief is on the assumption that I find it implausable for the Universe to have sprung out of nowhere all by chance. Let us contemplate the probabilities of a Universe being spawned by chance?...

Let alone, the planet(s) having life. Let us also contemplate the chances of that life gaining sentience, constructing a civilization, and sitting here wondering where it all came from to begin with.



I find it to be terribly arrogant to deny even the possibility of intelligent design. Cause, I would not think it plausable for everything to happen by the throw of some cosmic dice.
