Fundamentals of right and wrong are not dependant on being christian.
Murder, stealing, slandering, cheating, etc are wrong -plain and simple-unless your life or a loved ones is in danger.

I have to agree with you on this, the laws laid out in the Ten Commandments are the guidelines for a society to govern themselves by. Yes it does make sense.

I see absolutely no reason to even mention the word "Religion" in an election.

I don't feel demonized....

I agree with sotmfs and Petey....

But yeah, all this religion and politics lately, kind of nauseating.

Keep 'em separate

Couldn't agree more. If a person has to tell me what he or she is I wonder who he/she is convincing. For instance, I love it when a person stands up and says how "humble" they are. If they have to tell me then they're not...same goes for religion.

Very, very correct on the Christian thing. Might be a Godly thing but not exclusively Christian.

Unfortunately murder is still wrong even if a loved one is in danger...

Why does it matter?:

Even the Bible says a man is to be judged by actions and not words. The past history of a candidate is what we look to; how they write, formulate, and implement policy in our society. Their proclamation of faith tells us nothing about the person; a statement of faith is completely relative to what the person will actually do. Hitler used words that were of a pseudo-faith derivation to slaughter millions of Jews. The words and proclamation of faith George Bush used to get elected could just as easily be used by a Christian who is a pacifist. It is all relative; it tells you nothing about the person.
