Prophecy
I was recently asked by another forum member why I thought we were in the EndTimes. I finally have collect most of my information and will post it here for him and all to see, debate, or debunk. I DO NOT say that I know for absolute certain that is where we are, but it is my belief that we are.
This is kind of long so bear with me.
First Prophecy
Daniel 7:1-8
1Earlier, during the first year of King Belshazzar's reign in Babylon, Daniel had a dream and saw visions as he lay in his bed. He wrote the dream down, and this is what he saw.
2In my vision that night, I, Daniel, saw a great storm churning the surface of a great sea, with strong winds blowing from every direction. 3Then four huge beasts came up out of the water, each different from the others.
4The first beast was like a lion with eagles' wings. As I watched, its wings were pulled off, and it was left standing with its two hind feet on the ground, like a human being. And a human mind was given to it.
5Then I saw a second beast, and it looked like a bear. It was rearing up on one side, and it had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth. And I heard a voice saying to it, "Get up! Devour many people!"
6Then the third of these strange beasts appeared, and it looked like a leopard. It had four wings like birds' wings on its back, and it had four heads. Great authority was given to this beast.
7Then in my vision that night, I saw a fourth beast, terrifying, dreadful, and very strong. It devoured and crushed its victims with huge iron teeth and trampled what was left beneath its feet. It was different from any of the other beasts, and it had ten horns. 8As I was looking at the horns, suddenly another small horn appeared among them. Three of the first horns were wrenched out, roots and all, to make room for it. This little horn had eyes like human eyes and a mouth that was boasting arrogantly.
A beast in Bible prophecy always represents a kingdom or nation. Multiple heads on a beast symbolize the number of times that nation will rise and fall.
The lion is the symbol of Britain and the eagle is the symbol of America. This passage I believe represents the revolutionary war.
The bear is the symbol of Russia
The Leopard represents Germany and the four head represent the Reich’s with the fourth on coming up our or in it currently
Second Prophecy
First Trumpet
7The first angel blew his trumpet, and hail and fire mixed with blood were thrown down upon the earth, and one-third of the earth was set on fire. One-third of the trees were burned, and all the grass was burned. Revelation 8:7
WW1, 8 million dead, was most likely the sounding of the first trumpet. The first trumpet speaks about all green grass and things being burnt up
It may not mean world wide but the German army had a burnt earth policy that they burnt every green thing in sight
Second Trumpet
8Then the second angel blew his trumpet, and a great mountain of fire was thrown into the sea. And one-third of the water in the sea became blood. 9And one-third of all things living in the sea died. And one-third of all the ships on the sea were destroyed. Revelation 8:8-9
WW2, 52 million dead, was most likely the sounding of the second trumpet. The second trumpet says that 1/3 of the ships would be destroyed. Just over 105,000 ships, naval and domestic, where in the ocean. 36,000 was sunk. Just over 1/3. It also says that a huge mountain of smoke and fire came out of the sea. That was Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Third Trumpet
Then the third angel sounded; And a great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of the water; and the name of the star is wormwood; and a third of the waters became wormwood; and many men died from the water, because it was made bitter. Revelation 8:10-11
Chernobyl means wormwood. The nuclear power plant in Russia was named for the pants that surround it. When it exploded it made all the water in the area undrinkable and lots of people died because of it.
Fourth Trumpet
12The fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them turned dark. A third of the day was without light, and also a third of the night. Revelation 8:12
This prophecy is really vague but I believe that it has to do with how busy the world has become and little time we have.
The next trumpets are the three woes the will affect us
13As I watched, I heard an eagle that was flying in midair call out in a loud voice: "Woe! Woe! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the trumpet blasts about to be sounded by the other three angels!” Revelation 8:13
The US government warned the world about Hussein before the first Gulf war.
Fifth Trumpet
1Then the fifth angel blew his trumpet, and I saw a star that had fallen to earth from the sky, and he was given the key to the shaft of the bottomless pit. 2When he opened it, smoke poured out as though from a huge furnace, and the sunlight and air were darkened by the smoke. 11Their king is the angel from the bottomless pit; his name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek, Apollyon--the Destroyer. Revelation 9 :1-2,11
Saddam’s name means destroyer
"When Saddam Hussein's mother encountered difficulties in her pregnancy and doctors recommended an abortion, she traveled to Baghdad for medical care and stayed with friends in the Jewish community. Eventually, a healthy boy was delivered, whom she named Saddam, or "destroyer"," for the pain the pregnancy had caused." Jerusalem Post, December 13, 1997
In 1991 when Saddam Hussein realized that he had no choice but to withdraw from Kuwait, he gave the devastating order to set the lucrative oil fields of Kuwait ablaze. The result was unprecedented in the history of the world. Over half of the oil wells of this oil-rich nation, almost 700 in all, were set afire. By the end of the war, 6 million barrels of oil were going up in smoke each day.
During the Kuwait crisis, the sun was blotted out for three months
The skies of Kuwait were so blackened by the smoke that in some areas it was as dark as midnight at 12 noon. It was eight months before the last fire was finally extinguished. One American oil-field engineer, viewing the inferno, said, "You half expect to see little guys with pitchforks and tails coming out of the ground." (People Weekly, December 30, 1991)
Sixth Trumpet
13The sixth angel sounded his trumpet, and I heard a voice coming from the horns[b] of the golden altar that is before God. 14It said to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, "Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates." 15And the four angels who had been kept ready for this very hour and day and month and year were released to kill a third of mankind. 16The number of the mounted troops was two hundred million. I heard their number. 17The horses and riders I saw in my vision looked like this: Their breastplates were fiery red, dark blue, and yellow as sulfur. The heads of the horses resembled the heads of lions, and out of their mouths came fire, smoke and sulfur. 18A third of mankind was killed by the three plagues of fire, smoke and sulfur that came out of their mouths. 19The power of the horses was in their mouths and in their tails; for their tails were like snakes, having heads with which they inflict injury.
This has to do with the third world war. I believe that it is a nuclear war and has to do with China who boast an army of 200 men, but I do not believe that we are in that right know because of other prophecies that have not been filled yet.
Has to happen before the sixth trumpet
15"The time will come when you will see what Daniel the prophet spoke about: the sacrilegious object that causes desecration[a] standing in the Holy Place"--reader, pay attention! 16"Then those in Judea must flee to the hills. 17A person outside the house[b] must not go inside to pack. 18A person in the field must not return even to get a coat. 19How terrible it will be for pregnant women and for mothers nursing their babies in those days. 20And pray that your flight will not be in winter or on the Sabbath. 21For that will be a time of greater horror than anything the world has ever seen or will ever see again. Matthew 24: 15-21
27 He will confirm a covenant with many for one 'seven.' In the middle of the ‘seven’ he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on a wing of the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him. Daniel 9:27
A leader (the Anti-Christ) will stand in the rebuilt temple in Jerusalem and will confirm a peace agreement for the Middle East. Israel will give up the West Bank (Judea) and any Jews left there will suffer greatly.
After 3 ½ years the Anti-Christ will come back to the temple and state that he is God. This is the abomination of desolation.
Note the one ‘seven’ refers to one year times seven or seven years.
The Third Temple
1I was given a reed like a measuring rod and was told, Go and measure the temple of God and the altar, and count the worshipers there. 2But exclude the outer court; do not measure it, because it has been given to the Gentiles. They will trample on the holy city for 42 months. 3And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth. Revelation 11:1-3
Israel will rebuild the temple and will share it (only the outer court) with non-Jews. They will resume animal sacrifices for 3 ½ years. The Red Heifer needed for these sacrifices (described in Numbers 19:2) have just reached the proper age.
2 This is a requirement of the law that the LORD has commanded: Tell the Israelites to bring you a red heifer without defect or blemish and that has never been under a yoke. Numbers 19:2

The CIA has reported in their World Fact Book that China could field 200 million men

Just scroll down to military.
12Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great Euphrates River, and it dried up so that the kings from the east could march their armies westward without hindrance. 13And I saw three evil spirits that looked like frogs leap from the mouth of the dragon, the beast, and the false prophet. 14These miracle-working demons caused all the rulers of the world to gather for battle against the Lord on that great judgment day of God Almighty. Revelation 16:12-14

Makes you wonder doesn't it?
Also here is another reason that I believe that Israel will settle for a peace agreement but it will not last
2You surely know that the Lord's return will be as a thief coming at night. 3People will think they are safe and secure. But destruction will suddenly strike them like the pains of a woman about to give birth. And they won't escape. 4My dear friends, you don't live in darkness, and so that day won't surprise you like a thief. 1 Thessalonians 5:2-4

Hmmm, this is fascinating to read. I don't know if I fully believe it (because I hesitate a lot when interpreting these prophecies) but it does make some very interesting points.

I'm going out on a limb here. I'm Catholic, I go to church every week. But the bible can be interpreted anyway you want it to read, so I'm very skeptical about Prophecies. It was just mere men who wrote the Bible and translations were lost along the way. I'm sorry, but it's just the way I believe.

I go with these...and here is why.
1. Why is the Book of Revelations a more accurate or 'real' source than the writings from Hindu or Muslim religions? I believe in those parts of the Old and New Testament that line up with other readings from from other recognized world religions that will agree with each other. These things have to 'jibe' because all humans are the same basically and the common thread has to be there because of our humanity with one another.
2. Mankind has a overwhelming need and drive to explain the 'unexplainable.' This is sort of a metaphysical concept but go with me on this.
rev·e·la·tion
The act of revealing or disclosing.
Something revealed, especially a dramatic disclosure of something not previously known or realized.
The Book of Revelations was written by men who were trying very hard to answer questions (sincerely I might add) about the very existence of mankind and the universe. The very concept of time itself... is there a start? is there an end? If you have the power to explain this and have the concept or aesthetic come closer to our own mortality (we are temporary, time is eternal) then you hold A WHOLE lot of power in your hands. The implication of the Book of Revelations is that if events such as the Armageddon or the "the End of Times" were to happen then it brings us closer to the actually end of elapsed time itself. ie, possibly closer to the hand of God. People will always try to make the two into one.
The Christian point of view about Revelations in context of the the New and Old Testament:
-Man is mortal, the life of a human is temporary.
-Jesus Christ was given to use to show the 'eternal clock,' and the concepts that we are to hold as eternal so that mankind can STAY eternal and be here forever.
-Man wants to better explain these two and in his mortality has a great need to be closer to Jesus Christ because, Christ did walk the earth like us mortals but now is as the Right Hand Of God the Father.
-the concept of the Kingdom of God and the afterlife helps to put us closer but that REALLY does not fully explain it and does not satisfy our real need.
- if you argue or explain from the other end then it brings us even closer. So, you explain that eternity or time itself as we know it has an end too, ie the Book of Revelations is written (really, pulled together from a few sources).
You have found a way to bring the two together so that mankind can be an eternal/supernatural phenomenon like Christ himself. There is nothing wrong with all this but it does originate from a burning and unending desire for man to explain his very existence in the universe (in this case it is a Christian view).

the next will be the jews getting the temple mount, when that happens find a deep dark cave,if you want to be one of the meek who inherit the world
