Love is a decision and a commitment. I also believe it to be a spiritual connection with another person.

Hi Love is God. That is the simplistic truth that humanity misses. That very "Love" is shed abroad in all nations and is itself the Spirit of God. However, since Love can be violated by evil it must be protected. As so, we utilize discipline such as you described with your grandchild. The child doesn't understand that it is out of love of her that you won't let her get into something that would hurt. Again, 'discipline' is the tool you utilized.

However, it's not the only tool. Look at the peril our country is in, if we 'love' freedom and liberty we have to withstand evil that would try to destroy. In fact, 'love hates evil.' I know that sounds like a contradiction but its' true. True believers in Jesus are taught to 'put on the weapons of our warfare' which are not carnal to pull down strongholds of deceit that would hinder love.

Love has to 'hate' evil enough to oppose it. Again, that's what I mean by 'love can hate.' Ofcourse, 'love' operates in the hearts of humanity flaws and all. This is where a lot of secular people get mixed up. They don't know the Bible and they take lines out of context. For instance, the Bible says, 'love your enemy.' Now in reality, that means have a what is called 'agape' love for humanity and recognize the bondage ones' enemy is in, but you still must withstand and hate the evil that ones' enemy would try to promote. The reason one withstands it is because if you promote evil or hate or racism or sexism it stifles 'love.' Love by its'very nature brings liberty and freedom to all who walk under its' banner.

Yep, way better than hate...

good answers here already....

Love is many things, can be expressed many ways.

Love can be a childish joy

The wag of a dogs tail

Love can be in the companionship of lifelong friends....

It can be the joining of two souls, in many different ways....
Emotionally, physically, spiritually....

love cannot exist, without hate. as a matter of fact, each owes their very existence to the other.

In the context of hate is the absence of love...yes but when one moves past the paradox there is only one overriding 'Way' & it is Love.

So Love exists independent of hate. hate is just a child demanding the universe conform to its minuscule will. When the child lets go of it's demands it realizes it was there all along. Just not the way it expected it.

you can fill yourself with love; but by doing so, you will be expotentially capable of just as much hate.

living by one does not mean that you are uncapable of the other. it's a delicate balancing act.
