Default Control

Today I saw what must have been one of the sickest things I have ever seen pertaining to religion. There was a billboard which showed a child holding a gun. It said, "If god doesn't matter to him, do you?". This sums up for me what much of religion is: control. This billboard promoted using religion to control your children, while many religions promote control over you. The catholic church was created by romans for political control over the masses of people. Jesus Christ was based entirley on the egyptian god Set. The various christian churches preach of abortion, birth control, political perspective, even sexuality. In a bible that speaks of peace to this day there is war over and on the lands of that very book. Those in positions of religious power no longer simply lead others in prayer, they express their opinions and promote close minded views. Aren't you adults? Can't you make decisions for yourselves? Buddhists dont do this, nor do hindus. Aren't people trying to go to the same place? Why submit to others over the way you get there? I believe that now is a time for spiritual growth, not submission. As long as I am told to be bent to the will of others, I will not join a religion that does so.

Im not saying that it is not time for people to find a spiritual path, merely that it is time for a path of their own.

Lets see. Jesus christ was born of a virgin as was Set on the 25th of december. Set had 12 deciple type beings. He was betrayed by one of them and was wrongly prosecuted. 3 days after his death sentence he was ressurected to save man kind.

All of this was invented long before Jesus and it was mostly based on astrology. The only legitimate sources of Jesus being a historical figure speak of "christ" which translates into "the annointed one", which means the one who has been smeared or rubbed with oil, typically in a religious ceremony. For all you know this "christ" could have been a greased up roman.

Many things from the Bible are taken from mythology and adapted. That is not negative, but it makes your realize it just did not come out of nowhere.

But back to the billboard. How was the kid holding the gun? Did any group give credit or a disclaimer on the billboard?
