Headstart, my doctor, and a neurologist. But I knew that my son had some problems long before then. BTW, his father can not even read a simple childrens book.

He crawled, pulled himself up on things and walked very early. He had no fear, and even if he had suffered a painful consequence (such as touching something hot, would continue with such behavior. He ate, half standing/half sitting.

My son was only on Ritalin for a very, very short time. His behavior when he crashed (every four hours) was worse than without medication. He was switched to a different med, that allowed him to sit still long enough to learn to read, sit to eat, and learn coping mechanisms. He also took art therapy (A LIFE SAVER). By the age of nine, we made a decision together (HE AND I) for him no longer to take meds. He did however, continue with coping skills.
