You make a valid point if I understand you correctly........but then you are touching upon an issue which is quite deep. There are Biblical arugments for differing positions on this line of thought.
In God's great and eternal plan He knows the outcome because He is Omniscient, although I dont believe He arranged the outcome.....this would be totally unjust. To choose in this way the destiny of everyone would be against the 'freedom of choice' that we read so many times he has given to us. But, because He knows the beginning from the end....then he knows who is lost and who is saved...in that sense they are destined etc etc.

Check it out, when Jesus is in the temple and begins to tell them off, listen to what he is really saying, "your father the devil:"

Or it could mean that he is referring to the world/unsaved generally.....

it makes you know that these plans have been set since the beginning of time, follow the Lord in all thy ways and KEEP THE TORAH, THE LORD WAS NOT SENT TO ABOLISH THE TORAH, BUT TO OBEY IT, so shall we. anyway that is what I believe.

Very interesting subject and possibly one that should have its own thread for further discussion.

Can I just say two things on the past fews days postings and my abruptness and seeminly unchtristian manner in dealing with others on this site.

Firstly....I learnt a lesson about 20 + years ago whilst witnessing with a new convert friend of mine. We were both very young at that time and full of zeal and enthusiasm. On the street we met a young lady who was selling 'Watch Tower' magazines and as a Jehovah's Witness propergating a false gospel. So I was very quick to jump in and give her the whole truth...with the scriptures to back it up. We left her that day and put her out of our minds. Some months later we met her again, she had accepted the Lord and turned from her falsehood.....she was very pleased to see my friend and I again and thanked us for that day....which although didnt actually bring her to faith in Christ was responsible for totally shaking her belief in the J.W.s false teachings. Following that first meeting she was depressed and very upset...she cried a lot, but as a result she began to read the Bible (the Authorised Version) and after some weeks yeilded to Christ in her bedroom. But this is what she told us. Although from then she began to see the Truth....she didnt approve of our methods. She showed me a verse in Timothy. "The servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient"
I did feel at the time she was right to point out this verse to me and I thanked her.
Secondly, I have come to believe over the years that just as we are all very different in temprement and personality so the Lord works in us and through us as we are and uses those differences to His Glory. Every situation is different and every circumstance needs a different approach....so you have a point, as she did, to what you are trying to say to me and I thank you for that. However there is another side to me and when appropriate, as now, you will see that side. How ever you feel you should witness or 'share' as you would put it, that's for you. The life of Jesus
teaches us lessons as does the life of Paul and the other apostles. Sometimes we use the quiet approach at other times we use the full on no nonsense approach. Jesus dislpayed both as did the apostles...."You brood of vipers" (snakes)etc and Paul withstood Peter to his face and argued full on over an issue od doctrine....

I was in Bangladesh in 2001 and was asked to preach in a Methodist Church and also take a days lectures in their Bible school.....

The Title of my sermon was "THE SUPREME ESSENTIAL" & The Christians walk.

Can I ask you what do you think is the most important thing in the Christian life?

What is the Supreme essential in the Christian walk?

Not a trick question....think about it and let me know.

I honestly believe that Loving God with everything and making yourself a living sacrifice is the most important thing you can do.

30And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

31And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. Mark 12:30-31

Using the life of Paul as an example I pointed out 3 things.

(1) At the beginning of the ministry of Paul he said he was the least of all the Apostles not worthy to be called an Apostle 1st Corinthians chapter 15 and verse 9.
(2) Part way through his ministry he said he was the less than the least of all the saints (or believers). Ephesians chapter 3 verse 8.
(3) Near to the end of his ministry Paul had to confess that infact he was the chief of sinners. 1st Timothy chapter 1 verse 15.
What a life and what a progression along the way. In the worlds eyes the wrong way round....you start off at the bottom and work you way up. In Gods way of things the way up is the way down.

The closer you get to Him the further away you realise you are.

John the Baptist said speaking of Jesus "He must increase, I must decrease".

This is the secret.....Pauls secret....the Bible way. Philippians chapter 3 and verse10 the Supreme Essential. The one and only all important thing in the Christian life.
No not to spend hours studying the Word of God....although that is important. Its not to spend 20 or 30 hours a week in prayer, beneficial though that is. Its not Witnessing or giving out tracts etc etc. Or doing good deeds and saying nice things...

You were very close when you said to love God with all your being.....

The Supreme Essential is laid down in the life and ministry of Paul and found in the text in Philippians.

"That I may know him" and "the power of his resurrection" and "the fellowship of his sufferings" "being made conformable to his death"

How many "know" Him today? Do I know Him? We know all about church and all about meetings and attending meetings and services but do we really know Him. It is possible....may God help us!

Loving thy neighbor as thy self is all inclusive. Thy neighbor may be muslim, etc.

Peoples hearts that pump the poison of hate will not heal. The poison comes out of their mouth and into their children who go out looking for a rightous war, an may only go as far as the neighbor next door. The seed of our future is being wasted and corrupted by those who can not, or will not see the light of the truth and are deafend by the thunder of their own thoughts of hate religon against religon. Their God by any name must be so sadend by the waste of his creation's future seed.
