Imus Cancelled - Total BS
OK,
This has gotten so out of control, if Imus is cancelled, and he is, then all Rap and Hip Hop that mentions the word "Ho" should be ripped off the shelves. Otherwise, the over-reactive, insanely sensitive black community wins another extremely unfair double standard.
This is plainly censorship and pandora's box had been opened on the first amendment right of free speech.
Remeber, BET uses the same publicly licensed airwaves by the FCC to air Rap videos and songs that routinely have lyrics to include "Ho" all the time and ten times worse than Imus's comments and Imus is not a journalist. In fact, BET does "The News" as well, so no legit arguments for either airwaves or journalistic intent with this arguement.
This is total Bullshit!

Be careful now F/F...You'll offend the Ho's and Niggas of Rap. Only they can call themselves that. Please, respect their feelings.

Sorry, but if his employers decide to fire him and take him off the air, it has nothing to do with the 1st amendment. As an employer, they have a right to protect their interests.
Now, if he said that shit out on the street and was arrested for it, that would be a violation of his 1st amendment rights.

If the FCC shuts him down, then it's censorship. If it is simply his employers firing him, it is not. I own a business. It is a dictatorship, not a democracy. What I say goes. I have rules and they are not open to discussion.

No it is not. It is facing the concequences of your speech. Liberty without consequences is no liberty at all.

Its not censorship or a violation of his freedom of speech. It is a company acting to salvage what they can. May not be right, but thats the PC crap thats supposed to make sure everybody says the right thing.
