There does become a point where someone finally just gets sick a tired of it and this is one of those cases. For me, why does he have to go after female college basketball players? Well, they called him on it.

Perhaps to you it doesnt matter. I hope Imus keeps his job and he's ratings go up. Probably wont happen though cause the guy really does suck. I'm just tired of the 24/7 whining. When will something really news worthy be reported and not these stupid topics of distraction?
Ok, I''m off my soap box

You don't get to go that easy my friend. Imus caused the distration in the first place. Again, why does he have to say ANYTHING about a women's basketball team that has made that university and region very proud? They were not even close to being picked to get in the finals and worked very hard to get there, that is all that should be said about those young ladies. They are totally innocent bystanders, what the hell was he doing? Petey, I get sick and tired of the news giving us irrelevant information too but I think it was good that he was sounded out on this regardless of media or not. But, that is my take.

What's rather ridiculous is the claim that if you protest, you're infringing his 1st Amendment rights. It's a typical defensive posture that pops up whenever this sort of thing happens. But it's quite simple : he has the right to make bigoted comments, and others have the right to denounce them.

You're wrong, rap is, and has been held accountable. Al Sharpton and other civil rights leaders have, and still are holding hip hop and rappers accountable for their lyrics calling women "hos", and African Ameircans "niggers". So, your statement just goes to show how disconnected you are from even knowing what really goes on in the African American community in general. However, back to Imus. His sorry ass needs to be held accountable for what he said. He didn't even know any of these African American women-who are all Rutgers University scholars, and honor roll students-I might add. None were ever "rough, nappy headed hos", as your racist hero, Imus has ignorantly stated. These women never did anything to Imus, or anyone else to deserve his racist rants. And, just because African American rappers might use the word "nigger" in their lyrics, or "hos", doesn't even begin to justify Imus' use of the word ho-there's simply no excuse for this 70+ year old white racist dinosaur to try and hide behind young African American rappers, or anyone else, so that he doesn't have to be accountable for his own racist rants. Imus is old, and should have set the example for all younger people to follow-regardless of what color those younger people might be. It's sad that Imus is probably going to only get this two week "vacation" for his racism-but, at the same time, Imus' racist remarks also shed light on the producers of his show, NBC, and all other broadcasting corporations who have anything to do with him. Imus is a product of all of these broadcasting corporations, and NBC's own racist ideologies concerning not only African Americans, but people of color, and the handicapped, too. I do hope that the politicians and civil rights leaders involved in this, take this matter straight to the FCC, and demand that Imus be held accountable for his racist rants with more than just this two week "vacation" suspension. Imus has been a radio jockey for 40 years-yet his tired, racist ass still hasn't learned anything or set a positive example for younger Americans. And, anyone can give huge amounts to charity-but, this does not give them the right to be racist and sexist like Imus has done. So, Imus can take all his charity and shove it up his racist ass. No justice, no peace. Boycotte Imus' radio show, and businesses should remove all their endorsements from Imus, so this fool can't even make money from his racist radio show. So far, there have been two companies who have removed their endorsements from Imus, and these two companies should be applauded. Imus is number 14 as far as radio jockeys are a concern, so he's not even that popular-until now.

Well, yes, and I am glad they said something...jokingly or not what did they do to deserve some sort of weird Imus 'Black bimbo' treatment?

Imus is an entertainer. He has every right to say anything he wants about any basketball team.

And...most importantly as a consumer and him as entertainer...I never listen to him because he abuses this right (IMHO).
