You are correct in your assessment that it would have destoryed the Union. I would have to say that the preservation of the Union has proven to be a good thing over all.

I knew where you were going with this line of logic...when you let some group of morons hold you hostage with their ideaology....and think that some cloth flag represents all the hatred...you have fallen right into their trap...they would like nothing better than for you to really believe this..it fans the flames of hatred...and lets them go to real people of faith and convictions with their lies, and point out how, "THOSE PEOPLE", are trying to disgrace our national heritage....the best way to confront these people are to simply ignore them..on a public basis..I did not say ignore if and when they physically attack you...if you need help in this regard...like I said ..I'm here...as are many true americans that realize the america that they want to live in has put such nonsense behind it....BD

If someone gave my mother the finger....I would show them that when you put, the other four together...they make a fist...and I would proceed to show them what is was used for...just like anyone would...this is a physical attack and was made by people...not a cloth with the stars and bars on it...you have every right to defend what is yours and those in your charge...the problem is just bigotry and hatred...which usually comes from fear.....Show them that you are not afraid like they seem to be...if you continue to give them the attention they want...it breeds further hatred...not only in them, but in you....and they will eventually make a criminal out of YOU..when you lash out...Like I said...ignore them and what they represent....and it will fade away into the nothingness that is its true nature....BD
