Default Rap Music

I think they left the letter "C" out of the word RAP. No other form of music (if we wish to call it music) lowers the bar for society in general. RAP is the dumbing down of America and one of the most embarrasing US exports around the world.

Every other form of music requires years of practice to master a musical instrument, training, sweat, time and hard work. Most forms of music require a talent for singing, either blessed at birth or again, years of voice, singing lessons. And finally, what RAP is famous for, it's lyrics, most musical arrangements require the ability to write good songs, another talent void in the presence of RAP.

To recap - RAP does not require musical knowledge, singing ability or song writing skills unless we wish to write about a ho or bitch bustin a cap, a cop killer, drug abuse, crime, gangs, revenge, materialism, the hood etc. RAP is a cheap shortcut for those that want to make it big by not paying their dues.

Take a good look at the general cross section of RAP fans, by and large, they are the uneducated, poor, lower class of society. This form of music does reach into some well to do areas, but by comparision, the percentage is too low to calculate.

I don't think it's fair to classify RAP as music the same as say a symphony is music, so we should assign the degree of difficulty to all kinds of music. Orchestras or symphonies from 1 to 10, 10 being the most difficult to perform, RAP of course comes in at a 1 if not .05.

I am not a fan of rap or country music, but if you don't like it don't listen to it.

Definitely agree, Rob. I don't listen to either. I'd rather have a root canal.

Rap contains some social commentary, much like the music of the 60's. It might be the only way they think they can be heard?
