I don't like rap myself...it seems very angry to me. Life's just too short for the anger.

Apparently none of you detractors know anything about L. L. Cool J or Queen Latifah....both hip hop artists, both clean, both contribute and neither into drugs or violence and both very popular as performers and actors.....Not all rap is bad.

Maybe they have reason to be angry? Not everyone is treated the same in this country.

Ok...I can buy that...but I don't wanna listen to their anger for entertainment purposes. Life's just too short to be taken up by so much negativity.

Cool. My comments aren't directed at whether it's good or not. Just that sometimes "art" is a means to express anger, not necessarily to promote it.

Life is short...imagine having to live in the places they are "rapping" about?

However, in expressing their anger as art they are indeed promoting it.

And I'd rather take my imagination elsewhere thank you.

I'm not denying raps marketability, clearly many have made a whole lot of money with the genre so apparently there is a large part of society that identifies with the music. I just don't happen to be one of them.
