That person has already existed and in it's purist form... Dr King would have to wait for nearly 50 years to hailed, but I would not put Obama in this catagory... he is the result of all of the pain and struggle that came before him.

Why does Obama have to be the black Moses, when Jesse, Farakan and Sharpton are already here to do the job?

Why is Obama always looked at as being black. I don't see his skin color when I look at him. Instead I see his actions. Same way as I don't see kuccinich looking like a penguin or peanut or whatever it is he's suppose to look like.

First, I like the fact that you look at someone without looking at the color of their skin. That is the only way we should be looking at people.
However, I take issue with the so called "actions" of Obama that you look at. I haven't seen any. I am from Illinois and have been observing Obama since he was in congress here. I have not seen anything of substance from him.

In 2002, then Illinois State Senator Obama said Saddam Hussein posed no imminent threat to the United States and that invasion would lead to an occupation of undetermined length, at undetermined cost, with undetermined consequences. Since then, Senator Obama has laid out a plan on the way forward in Iraq that has largely been affirmed by the bipartisan Iraq Study Group led by James Baker and Lee Hamilton.

Obama acknowledged that corruption was a problem that plagued both political parties. He subsequently enlisted the help of Republican allies to limit lobbyist influence, shine sunlight into the earmarks process and promote open government.

Senator Obama has been a leader in the Senate in pushing for a comprehensive national energy policy and has introduced a number of bills to get us closer to the goal of energy independence. By putting aside partisan battles, he has found common ground on CAFE, renewable fuels, and clean coal.

I see what you mean. Lots of hot air and no substance. He just doesn't say enough. But what can you expect. He's a democrat. http://www.barackobama.com/issues/energy/

I can answer it. When the prison system has a percentage of black people equivalent to the percentage of black people in our country. In other words if black people make up 10% of our country then only 10% of the prison population should be black. Not 99%.
