Egad....I agree.

To feel the nesesity to ask forgiveness for something that accured that long ago, by other people is absurd. It places a stigma on current gov't based on race and past policy. For it to mean anything it would have had to come from those who did it to those it happened to.

In the spirit of the subject, My great-great-great grandfather was in the French military, so to anyone of english decent, I am truely sorry.

think we need to legislate a National Day of Apology. That way all those who feel moved to (or have been brainwashed or guilted into thinking they are terrible people because their ancestors weren't PC) can wallow in guilt and redemption by apologizing to everybody for everything...whether they had anything to do with it or not. I furthur suggest that we put a 20 year statute of limitations on this apology thing...when the statutes are up, forget it! Nobody can give or receive an apology (under pain of a flogging with a wet noodle) after that 20 year statute expires.
