Condi Rice was trying to use the "ROPE-A-DOPE" to avoid telling the truth on the troop surge and explaining Bush's lack of a plan for Iraq occupation....and Barbara Boxer nailed the "Professional Liar" and turned Condi Rice into "FRIED RICE".

I notice no one went after Charles Rangel when he uses the same argument as justification for re instating the draft. BTW he's black.
I also find it peculiar that World Net Daily only drags out their token black Op-Ed contributor when they are playing the race card.
If WND and, in this case as an unwitting pawn Gix, set out to further divide this forum along political and racial lines, which WND is notorious for trying to do to the country, they have succeeded.
Fortunately for Middle America, and America as a whole, few, but the Extreme Right read this rightwing racist Internet rag,
I don’t blame Gix so much; he’s a young, very impressionable, misguided “Bush” leaguer trying hard to get to the big leagues.
I went after Rangel, because that is exactly what he was doing, using the race card to justify his idiotic notion that black americans are bearing the brunt of this war (which we aren't) to call for a reinstatement of the draft.

I just wonder; if a democrat wins the big chair, will we have all of this concern for an increase in our numbers.

Our active force as it stands right now is somewhere around 450,000 to 500,000 troops. But, what one needs to remember is that the actual figure for ground troops (infantry, special forces, etc....) is actually less. So I truly do hope that these calls for the draft are truly genuine, and just not some political ploy being used in DC. Just as I hope that the concern for our well being coming out of DC is genuine, because we as a military force hate being used for political gain from both sides of the political party spectrum.

From what I have heard, his targets were the politicians responsible for sending our troops to war; his objective was to spread the sacrifice across the board. From the demographics I have seen concerning the breakdown of the military, the casualties in Iraq are not aligned with the demographics of the country,, A proportionally greater number of whites are casualties.

I would just hope that he would stay true to his word and make such a call even under democratic leadership; 400,000 to 500,000 troops ain't enough.

Are you refering to combat troops? Because the numbers I've seen put the total active duty at 1.4 million.

That's bullshit... some of us are in the trences with them and they are many of my closest friends, so no it's not about ideology. It's about rights and dignity.
