Are commercials biased against white males
There seems to be a trend for the last several years in protraying white males as boobs and incompetent oafs. If it were not for the wifes, girlfriends, children of men they would all just play in traffic or drink from the toilet.
A case in point is the commercial for Dish Network showing the extremely stupid and incompetent husband building entertainment centers when all he has to do is buy the Starz network. Or the hapless customer in the ballet dinner who attempts to (the horror the horror) actually use cash to pay for his meal.
As I stated in an earlier thread I think the worst are the Sonic commercials. All of the males shopping at Sonics are the most insensitive, idiots on the face of the earth.
Most commercials depicting women may show them as shallow homemakers but they don't show them as incompetent idiots.
Thats my opinion
Whats yours?

I find these kinds of commercials and programs very degrading. There are just as many smart men out there as there are women. The way these people are portrayed on television, I mean, come on...no one is that stupid. We all make mistakes and we can all be clutzes at times, but I don't think it is humanly possible to be as bad as they portray it.

Great eye, Nate! I like the one for some brand of hot-dogs where mom leaves a note for dad to make dinner that night as she will be working late. Well dad freaks and they cut to a dream sequence of the dad drowning in pots and pans and other kitchen utensils, well enter Jr. and tells dad not to worry, just nuke a hotdog wrapped in plastic for 30 sec. and dinner is served. I am not a father, but I could whip up a delicious meal without panic, hell I WOULD ENJOY IT. I would watch Sports Center and throw back a glass of "Pinot Noir" (Don't even think about it Nate, we already heard your pee joke) and kick it up several notches.

I guess we have come full circle. Since White Males control the world, seems fair to take shots at us.

I've watched "Desperate Housewives" ONE TIME ONLY because my mom was visiting. That show takes the take for stereotypes.

Ya & I feel like less of a man......
oka no not really. Look the one at the top of the heap is easiest to 'safely' make fun of. Just watch one of those ads & change the race, then contemplate the politically correct reactions.
Hm that might actually be fun.
By the way Spitty I like our style. I too love to cook & think I'm better at it than my wife. It's funny my 7 year old daughter agrees.
