What is your main objection to the initial post? Is it the posters choice of the word "Negroes" or is it the idea that one group of people are using past injustices to gain political power? I will admit when I first saw "Negroes" I thought "Oh well, here is another redneck confederate flag waver". But the question is a good one, why do we continue to entertain the idea that 150 years after the end of slavery, 40 plus years after the passage of the civil rights act and an obvious changing of attitudes we owe African Americans something special? Is the United States perfect? No of course not but right now I see racism running in both directions with white people being discriminated against with the force of law while black people are discriminated against by ignorant fools.
The poster should have used something other than the word Negro, but at least he didn't say "nigrahs" which is what I grew up hearing

Perhaps it’s the “all encompassing” nature of the post and yes the use of the word “Negro”, which, unless one has been living under a rock or state prison, knows is a racist term from the past.
It certainly sets the stage for further debate, and limits the scope of argument.

So, the main issue is the use of the word and the question has no validity because of that ??????
Lets restate it:
When are we going to address the true issues of past injustices and when has the price been paid for those injustices?

The validity of the implied topic is not in question.
The type of individual one joins in debate is.
I see an “opportunity” to spread a message of hate, not an attempt to discuss the topic at hand.
…Sometimes it’s not what one says…it’s how they say it.

As for the question, I have no opinion, as I haven’t given it much thought. I would like to hear your opinion.

My opinion is that it is being used for political purposes. Keep the troops thinking they can't survive without the help of government and you keep a voting base. My opinion is that most, if not all, organizations designed to help a specific group do so for the sole purpose of increasing their own power. African Americans have made great strides in the last 20 years or more but to listen to Jesse Jackson et al things are worst now than ever before.
BTW, yes it is true that all races are on welfare but as a total percentage of their numbers African Americans are the leading recipients of those benefits. I think this is because they are purposefully kept in a mindset of poverty by thier own leadership. This ensures victims for that leadership and votes and power.

I will agree, that for some, the “Family Business” is welfare, and the African Americans are proportionally the largest recipients. I also feel that welfare is non-motivational and perpetual.
I’ll have to give some thought about whether the “Leaders” purposely manipulate the people to maintain power. Later.
