I had issues with my country, lots of them. I was embarrassed at how stupid Americans were on nearly every topic.

But since coming here I have found new found appreciation for this great, indeed greatest country on earth.

For here I have discovered that foreigners are infinitely more stupid and ignorant than even the worse American.

Thank you Canuck and NOYB. You have reconfirmed my faith in this country.

Even though I agree with some of what he and his cohorts say about libs, and the liberal agenda, their rants and raves full of hate, be that towards Jews, Catholics, and others and the fact they will not accept the possibility that they may be wrong, show that they are close minded and ignorant. He quotes web sites that only support his side, and dismisses anything else that is presented as a plot by the Jews. He talks in circles, tries to confuse the issue by running in a different direction. When cornered the only defense he has is to dismiss the opposite view as being wrong. One more thing to add to the list above for icypeacemaker is ignorant.

I love this country because I can live the way I want without having to please anyone. If I work hard enough to educate myself then I can be a professional but first and foremost because I can have my own opinions.

Yes there are Americans that couldn't France on a map or even tell you who their elected officals are but then again they have the freedom to be themselves.

rob, in ancient Greece they had this word, its was arete. Arete's definition changed, first in the days of the early city states physical brute strength was the ideal, was arete. It changed, instead, to worship next the strategic and clever mind, kings of course by this time emerged from mere tribal gangs to control armies. In America for some reason arete is money and pop-culture instead of intelligence and willpower. I personally don't see it that way, and of course America being as diverse as it is there are people out there like myself who think that what makes a person worth talking to are their wits and will. Too bad I'm not the majority.
