The issue is that China never had a reason to invade. They are surrounded by scrub, mountain and deserts. There was no profit in invading. Until the 19th century, they made their money through exporting peacefully. Even in the 19th century, they had a huge trade surplus with Europe until the English became drug runners.

Europe never invaded Asia (crusades being the sole exception) until the 17th century and have all but abandoned it since then. Who knows what China will do in the next couple of hundred of years.

I took a course in Chinese history at the University of Maryland. The one thing I learned is that while China has been invaded numerious times by numerous people they have always remained "Chinese" The invaders assimilate into the chinese culture, not the other way around. I believe the same is true with the communist. Eventually the communist chinese will become Chinese period. They are perhaps the most capitalistic people on the face of the earth left to their own devices. They were not called "Jews of the Orient" for nothing

Just checked on Wiki, looks like it was 28%. Goes to show that one shouldn't go on memory when trying to recall statistics. Some put the number up to 49% but that includes a lot of organizations that I wouldn't really call Christian and some flexible statistics. 28% seems the more reasonable.

So you were right and I was wrong.

Well, part of the advantage of being surrounded by scrub, desert and mountains, is that it is so hard for others to attack you. Until the 19th century, the invaders generally were nomads, who formed an elite, but really didn't colonize the territory. Sort of like the Normans in England, but without anything that could be considered more civilized (language for instance).

Yes, and now we have a China that is imbracing the extremes of both the political right(for their economy) and the Politcal left(for their social control),
it doesn't take much to realize that is nightmare about to happen.
People should have a good read of a series of articles publish in the Epoch Times, about the CCP, it is available on their web site and is worth the read, especially for all you republicans and democrats.

I believe that the Chinese have recently become fanatical nationalists, hell bent on ramming CCP propaganda down everyones throats. Yes I loathe the CCP and its tranny on the Chinese people, and people must realize that this new captialist allowance by the CCP is only for one reason. We will see after the Olympics what the CCP aims are, Tiawan being one of them. I think China will start WW3 personally.

This is true too, but the Japanese of today are less arrogant and more humble these days, they are a neutered nation controlled by the west.
Well when I have spoken to japanese people about this subject on the rape camps in WW2, the are deeply apologetic, thats the people.
The government is another thing, and it will be a slow proccess before they apologize. Hey it's taken 43 years for our government to apologize to the Aborignal People, and thats 43 years since we recognized them as humans and not just part of the fawna like Kangaroos.
