Default Hillary says the U.S. House is a plantation

Is this really appropriate for Martin Luthor King Day?

“When you look at the way the House of Representatives has been run, it has been run like a plantation and you know what I'm talking about..."

http://wcbstv.com/local/local_story_016200030.html

It seems like speeches celebrating his life should be about bringing people together and not trying to score points against your political opponents. That's to say nothing of demeaning the people who lived on ACTUAL plantations. I don't see House democrats getting whipped or forced to work in the fields, and it's trivializing to compare them to people who actually suffered from real slavery.

There's an article I saw on how this might hurt her chances of getting the 2008 nomination just because it makes her less disciplined:

Newt Gringirich also used that expression. i thought it was just away to make apoint. Al sharpton said he was there and it was in context to a question and the meaning was that democrats could not question the administration. Newt also in his time used that expression. Maybe not the best choice but definetly overblown.

It could be worse. People used to call her "Hitlery" all the time.

Interesting that Hillary would make that statement since she and her husband ran the "Plantation" for 8 years and the House it was run from was the "White House".

Bubba gets a standing "O" from the crowd and, along with that demented old peanut farmer and the race baiter from Atlanta, turns the "funeral service" into a political rally. But for a moment I forgot, "politics is religion" from the left.

Hillary would know about plantations after all those years defending the welfare plantation.
