Default Liberals love monopoly

-They loved their media monopoly. Is it really any surprise that, prior to talk radio and the internet, the views expressed by the mainstream media always coincided with the liberal view?

-Monopoly in “reproductive” rights as well. Reproductive rights is, to the left, merely abortion. They recoil in horror at the thought of abstinence education, at the offering of adoption etc.

-Monopoly in the “scientific” world. I will remind you again that Margaret Sanger supported Eugenics, that that was a left/liberal idea, and I will also tell you that it was a failed science. I coordinate that with the way that globaloney is being presented.

-Monopoly in higher education. Pew Research and other organizations has consistently demonstrated that the overwhelming super-majority of college professors are liberal/dem/progressive. I know for a fact that for the most part conservatives just keep their mouth shut on the faculty.

-Monopoly in free speech. In the times that I have TA’ed and taught I always try to ask the question whether a neo-Nazi group or a KKK group have the right to march peacefully and I am always STILL stunned that the overwhelming majority of the students say no. Lately I have asked if peace protestors who do property damage should be arrested and charged the answer is nearly unanimously no!!

-The Free Speech Movement started at the University of California at Berkeley and over the past 15 years more conservatives have had to cancel appearances because of credible death threats, including Benjamin Netanyahu WHO was the Isreali Prime Minister at the time. More than one hundred and fifty conservative speakers have been forced to cancel appearance on University of California campuses in the past 7 years alone because of the threat of protests made it impossible for them to speak. Even though the University of California at Davis has the LARGEST Republican Club {which dwarfs the Dem club} of any university in the state conservative speakers are outnumbered by progressive/liberal/dem speakers at the margin of 27 to 1.

---That is the kind of monopoly the left loves.

Although not agreeing with all the "lefty" viewpoints stated, what is there not to love? If it was a right leaning monopoly, would not the conservatives love it? When you speak of students, I say give them a break. We don't have to agree with them, but they are young and idealistic. That will change all to soon.

What a fucking whiner...there is no media monopoly. Are you brain dead from watching faux news?

-Monopoly in “reproductive” rights as well. Reproductive rights is, to the left, merely abortion. They recoil in horror at the thought of abstinence education, at the offering of adoption etc.

nobody is forcing abortions on those that don't want one. In your mother's case, what a shame....

Conservatives have the bible. Liberals have science. sounds okay to me.

-Monopoly in higher education. Pew Research and other organizations has consistently demonstrated that the overwhelming super-majority of college professors are liberal/dem/progressive. I know for a fact that for the most part conservatives just keep their mouth shut on the faculty.

Of course they are. Intelligent people seek out schooling and education.

Really? Maybe try a public instead of parochial school....

They must not have any balls if the threat of protest silences them.
Fucking cowards. Kind of like Dumbya and his hand picked audiences.
Fucking cowards.

*(Phillip Morris donated 2.9 million to George W Bush in 2000)*

In 1983, 50 corporations controlled the vast majority of all news media in the U.S. At the time, Ben Bagdikian was called "alarmist" for pointing this out in his book, The Media Monopoly.

In his 4th edition, published in 1992, he wrote "in the U.S., fewer than two dozen of these extraordinary creatures own and operate 90% of the mass media" -- controlling almost all of America's newspapers, magazines, TV and radio stations, books, records, movies, videos, wire services and photo agencies.

He predicted then that eventually this number would fall to about half a dozen companies.

This was greeted with skepticism at the time. When the 6th edition of The Media Monopoly was published in 2000, the number had fallen to six.

Since then, there have been more mergers and the scope has expanded to include new media like the Internet market. More than 1 in 4 Internet users in the U.S. now log in with AOL Time-Warner, the world's largest media corporation.

In 2004, Bagdikian's revised and expanded book, The New Media Monopoly, shows that ONLY 5 HUGE CORPORATIONS -- TIME WARNER, DISNEY, Murdoch's NEWS CORPORATION, BERTELSMANN of Germany, and VIACOM (formerly CBS) -- now CONTROL MOST of the MEDIA INDUSTRY in the U.S. GENERAL ELECTRIC'S NBC is a close sixth.

The MEDIA AQUARIUM is now OWNED by a very close knit circle to SUBTLY shape public opinion without the public knowing that it's happening. It's all orchestrated to throw wool in the minds of the aquarium population... to make it look 'freedom' and 'democracy' are at it's best in America... with many colorful characters parading in the circus for making this grand illusion... of freedom and democracy possible.

>>>Why should liberals mind living with THAT? It would, however, be a simple thing to have a rightist media. You have plenty of cash and a seemingly endless supply of Malkin/Coulter-like bimbos. Now all you need is something to say worth listening to. That is where you have been falling on your asses for decades.

Don't know how you came to that conclusion since conservative talk shows are the highest rated shows on the radio and Fox News has the highest ratings on tv...No liberal show can stay on the air long enough to get name recognition because NOBODY LISTENS TO THEM. So who has been falling on their asses? Ask Rush.

That would explain the massive popularity of AirAmerica.
