Tillman might have been patriotic and a great ball player but he wasn't too smart.
Standing up waving your arms when you got some saired ass kids shooting at you ain't the thing to do.
Back on Christmas eve 1952 in Korea we were on a recon patrol and the chinks- pc Chinese had some loudspeakers blasting away " Go home or die GI, Gonna kill you tonight GI, who is your wife sleeping with tonight, we can see you GI bla bla bla.
Coming back into the perimeter later the 2 man out post opened up on us- We hugged the ground and yelled and they stopped.
That what those Rangers should have done.
We didn't blame them as they were a little tense.
Actually, I grew up with weapons and learned how to use them.
Many people shouldn't own guns because they are too quick on the trigger.
Some of the young cops today are prime examples.
I could go on and on but I've said enough

The military trains hard to eliminate friendly fire incidents, but sometimes mistakes happen. We don't want to shoot friendlys but it happens.

Thanks Ladyofmts, A+Bert and Rob. Yes it is sad when such incidents happen, but have always happen in the cloudy fog of battle.
The family of this Soldier, were told by the American and British Governments that this incident did not happen. So what I am saying is that as embrassing as it may be, it is the duty of the Government to be honest, at least to the families. The release of this video has most proberly put the finally nail in Tony Blairs demise.

Almost made it to Australia back in 45. Picked up some US Marines on Guadacanal and gave them a ride to Okinawa.
Always wanted to go to Australia.
After the war picked up some POWs out of Japan and took them down to the Phillipine where they were processed and sent home. To Australia, NewZealand, Canada, Britain, Indiaand the USA.
Hell met one Canuck prisoner who spent a fewe days in my hoetowns jai before the war.
There wasn't much difference between the Aussie and Canucks and Americans but the brits were ignorant and arrogant slobs and had meat on their bones compared to other nationalities. I guess they cooperated with the Japs
Unfortunately it seems like you people have a few environmental problems over there.
Drought, fire etc.
Best of Luck.
