“Iran is ready to give its valuable experiences and achievements in peaceful nuclear technology to the countries of the region,” Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told Mohammad Dhaifullah Sharar, a special envoy of Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah, the Kuwaiti television reported Saturday.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran is prepared to transfer to regional states its valuable experience and achievements in the field of peaceful nuclear technology as a clean energy source and as a replacement for oil,” the Iranian President said.
The latest statement by the Iranian leader echoes increasing concern among Gulf nations who fear Israel’s nuclear arms stockpile as well as the Islamic Republic’s nuclear might.
It follows recent announcement by Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries to set up their own nuclear energy programme for peaceful purposes, plans that were greatly welcomed by the Iranian President.
On Sunday, Iran’s Foreign Ministry reaffirmed that Tehran will never give up its right to pursue peaceful nuclear technology even if the United Nations imposes sanctions.
President Ahmadinejad has also brushed off the threat of UN Security Council sanctions.
Speaking to the state TV, the Iranian leader said: "The nuclear case is already finished. We have closed it."
"Our nation conquered the peak" of nuclear technology, Ahmadinejad has been quoted recently as saying.

So what's the solution Smitty? Do we now attack and invade or just attack Iran now?
Just how long do you fight the war on Terrorism? As was shown on another thread, acts of terrorism are on the rise throughout the world.
Smitty I don't know if you have kids or not. I've got two girls, 9 & 11, and I do not want them caught up in our never ending war against Terrorism. Talk to Iran, let some type of diplomacy get through. As far as sharing nuclear technology....well we're dealing with North Korea and have been for years. We're dealing with them diplomatically, we're giving them aid for their people, etc. and they're still defying us. Even now that we have them at the negotiating table they're being horse's asses. But we're dealing with them.
If we do it for Kim, who's just as crazy as the Iranian President, why can't we deal with Ahmadinejad? How long can we keep fighting the war in the Middle East? Unless we're attacked much, much worse then 9/11 (and God knows nobody wants that) there is not going to be a draft. No matter what the bravery of you and other soldiers, I don't think any American is prepared for a war/insurgency/occupation for 10 or 15 years.
Also 2008 election pundits are already saying that the pull out from Iraq is going to be the biggest election subject.
Smitty, you cant fight everybody.

Good luck with that. As your own leaders look for a back door to shove the Iraq War out of.
As to letting "OUR FALLEN TROOPS DIE FOR NOTHING AS YOU WOULD!" Iraqi's can't seem to get it together. You have troops on their second and third tours because we can't seem to get anyone else. They shouldn't be put into that situation. America is not behind the war. Your ranting and raving, while interesting in a Pyschological way, won't change that.
While I'm sorry you didn't see your daughter until 7 months, that doesn't discount the fear for my children.
So go ahead, "FIGHT EVERYBODY", and see how that works out for you. The 100% Voluntary military was not designed to fight an extended war or occupation. We're going to be there another 2 years at least. This "conflict" has already lasted more then WWII. Nobody, with any intelligence, questions the bravery and dedication of our troops - I know I don't. But the military is designed to follow orders. Order them to stay and fight and they will. We need to send another 30-100K troops, pacify Iraq and if that doesn't work, in two years we need to pull out. But we can't "FIGHT EVERYBODY", because without a draft or, God forbid, another attack on American soil, the all volunteer Army will begin to have problems. The DoD admits that our Army was not built for "long term occupation." Having soldiers there, under fire from 2003 to 2008, 7 years, is not fair to those soldiers.
We're pulling out, in about two years Smitty. Mark it on your calendar - celebrate it with your kid.

Unfortunately your children as well as mine ARE caught up in the war on terror (which was officially declared in the 90's by the way). We do not have a choice in whether we and they participate. With many other things I guess it boils down to ow much we are willing to endure. The only thing we know for sure is that this form of terrorism is ideological and not political. And that poses more problems than anyone might think possible.
