Default Airport Safety and the democrat spin on it

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061103/.../runway_safety

That is the full article. the main point I wanted to say was this. Many US airports don't have a 1000ft safety zone at then end of at least 1 runway. These are airports that have been in existence for several decades.

Here is what one democratic senator tried to say..

"Our runways are out of shape, and the Bush administration has failed to move to correct the problem," Sen. Frank Lautenberg (news, bio, voting record), a New Jersey Democrat, said Thursday. "If we don't get serious about runway problems, the result could be disastrous."

Since the Bush Administration is in charge, he feels compelled to say its the Bush Admin's fault. 7 years ago when the Clinton Admin was in charge, why didn't they say something then? The runways haven't moved.

Typical bi-partisan politics. If its wrong, its Bush's fault. Must be Bush's fault that the weather is cold, he is in fact in charge.

Okay, it may seem like a silly question, but why can't the airports fix their own runways; they built them didn't they?

I don't think that's a silly question at all.

Because it is Bush's fault. The airports are privately funded, but democrats seem to think that since FAA is there to regulate, they are responsible for it.

It is Bush's fault that some people who choose not to work, are not well paid for their efforts in avoiding labor. That is criminal........
