Default Who deregulated housing?

But the gall of our politicians have no end. We have already established that deregulation of the banking industry started with the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act of 1999 under President Clinton.

But lets see what or how corrupt our politicians really are:

According to OpenSecrets.org, http://www.opensecrets.org/news/2008...d-freddie.html, and, as released by the Federal Election Commission, here is the list of those in the Senate and Congress who received donations from Freddie Mac and Fanny Mae from 1989 until present and how much they received:

And the winners are:

In the First place: Democrat Christopher Dodd with $165,400
Second: Presidential Candidate Barack Obama with $126,349
Third: Democrat John Kerry with $111,000
11th: Democrat Harry Reed with $77,000
12th Hillary Clinton
18th Nancy Pelosi with $56,250
62th... Republican John McCain with $21,550.
217th is Joe Biden with $3,300

McCain also got around $100,000 this year from Geoffrey T. Boisi, one of the directors of Freddie Mac. Obama also received some more from individual contributors affiliated with the Housing Industry.

The complete list can be found at: http://www.opensecrets.org/news/2008...d-freddie.html and also, you can do your own research by visiting Federal Election Commission Home Page.

Gramm-Leach-Bliley was authored by Phil Gramm, who is....

McCAIN'S top economic advisor!

McCain voted FOR Gramm-Leach-Bliley, and Biden voted against it.

McCain even wanted to Co-Sponsor the legislation, but it already had too many sponsors so they turned him down.

McCain is a LIAR!!! He's been on the wrong side of this equation from DAY ONE, and now suddenly in the last week he flip-flops and becomes an ardent supporter of regulations?

I THINK NOT!!!

Nice try though...

I agree that there is enough blame to go around for both parties. Yes Obama and McCain have advisers that have benefited from all this.

I don't hear you contesting any part of what I said, though.

Because, it's all the TRUTH.

Which seems to be a problem with the Republi-Cons these days, they wouldn't know the truth if it came up and bit 'em on the nose!

Yeah, right, Clinton was dictator in 1999 and just made the law over the objections of leading Republicans like Phil Gramm. Why Clinton had Gramm render to Syria for torture until he agreed to sponsor the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act.

In fact, Clinton had to render all the Republicans in Congress to Syria to get their votes as they were in the majority and the bill couldn't pass without their support.
