He actually did go further than Obama...IMO
Maybe McCain did reach them, but still, debating the details vs. just giving the details is always more telling. They will not be allowed to force a simple answer down our throats. Plus, body language has much to do with it for me.
Something I’ve notice about Obama, is that when he speaks with someone one on one, he prefers to control the conversation. Often he reaches his hand toward them, as to stop them mid sentence, it appears to me, as a lack of confidence, like.....let me explain further, I can get it right this time. I don’t know, it’s just something about his body language.

Yep, and when people are speaking to him he is a Bobble head.. like he knows it all already.
And when he answers its um..uh...umm.. uh..you know... uh.. he looks around and down, sideways and sorta answers, cocks his head back, juts his jaw and smirks a smile, like he invented Butter.

I’ve always had issues with the way he cocks his head to the side, makes him appear condescending & polarizing. Maybe I’m just nitpicking but, like I stated, body language is an issue with me.

No, McCain did alright. He will probably go into detail about what he intends to do when he gets in office during the debates. This way, Obama can't prepare ahead of time, and use McCain's political ideals. Instead, Obama will have to have his own political ideals. I would give McCain a B on his convention speech. He did very well.

I think it's the fact that his body motions are like Frankenstein.
He frightens young people.

Heck, you ought to go to the Hillary Forums and read how the PUMA's feel.. Those gals crack me up!.. They have a thread that is a play by play thread of Plains speech, then the next night it was play by play McCains speech..
Lol.. the Opinions of a bunch of Women Obama Haters and NOW McCain Palin lovers.. its a Circus and very funny how they diss the media for attacking Palin and McCain.. They just LOVE Palin and her kids, they Love Cindy Mac, and LOVE McCain.. lol.. its fun to read.. I would join by they have closed registration.

Geeze even Cindy McCain has more experience than Obama! And she's a community organizer too!

That video was AWESOME! Made me so proud to be an American.
I can't believe people call him "Bush III" He's NOTHING like Bush!
Okay, the green background has to go.
Bush shout out. Oy. He may have just lost me.
=====
Does anybody really think Michelle Obama would make a better First Lady than Cindy McCain? Puh-leeaze.
Oh and I love when they show him wearing his NAVY hat. My dad was in the NAVY and it makes me proud.
He's so refreshing to listen to.
======
The Republican ticket makes much more sense in that the older, more experienced candidate is leading with the younger, leader of the future as the VP. The Democratic party ticket, meanwhile, is completely out of whack! Less experienced leading, more experienced following. It doesn't make any sense.

I TRUST this man, I can't believe it.

actually, this may be great for the ticket. The "community organizers" disrupting this are showing all of America what we can look forward to with an Obama presidency. 4 years of thug life. Someone should have told them to review how well this tactic worked in 1968 and 1972.

Why isn't security removing the demonstrators! God, the Dems treated their own like crap and even hurt them as they escorted them out! Remove the d'bags now!

He is setting the record straight. No diatribe regarding BHO, he's all telling what he stands for and what he's faced. This is good, no BS straight forward English we can understand. No empty sentences that go no where.
======
Objectively, I like the fact that he is putting both parties on notice.

Can I just say how much I love this forum for giving us (Democrats/Republicans/Independents/Moderate Liberals/Conservatives) a chance to get to know each other and to destroy some of the stereotypes that we've had about each other. None of us are perfect but most of us are not like the extremists on either end of the spectrum and unfortunately, that is how we sometimes think of those different than us. I just love the opportunity to change those assumptions and come together for a common purpose.

NFL first game tonight. McCain knows he cannot get more viewers but he has excuse
======
Maybe it's the moment affecting me, but I am slowly beginning to warm up to McCain as president. I have a feeling that a McCain presidency won't be as bad as we are led to believe and I truly hope that my feeling is correct. I'm tired of the bs. I really am.

this is lived experience ... "I hate war... " he tells us and he will use all his resources to make peace lasting and stable... we have to change the way we do business in WA... Partisan rancor a symptom of Narcissitic Politicians...
He is Bi-Partisan.... Country FIRST... "my friends..."
======
McCain is centrist to centrist left. That's why the far right wing hated him and the far left wing fear him. He exposed pork from BOTH parties. If he's in charge...he will expose them all. And they don't want that. The spending spree comes to a halt. It is his 26+ year trademark.
=======
You know. I kind of had that feeling, but there was that nagging doubt that he was just another panderer who would show his "far-right" colors eventually. I see that I had nothing to doubt after all. Especially since I've noticed some very uncomfortable Republicans in the crowd.
=======
I would of doubted too. But I am surrounded by right wingers who nagged about him ALL THE TIME. McCain was a thorn in their side. McCains friendship with Hillary and Leiberman spoke alot too. I knew if they hated him, I would most probably like him. BTW-I held up fine...had a rush through the speech, especially the ending...but didn't cry until I saw McCain cry. His tears were proof positive of his intent and his love of country.
=======
very very appealing compared to arrogant bo.
he has tears in his eyes too tonight - very emotional for him. i like to see that. he is a good man. this is the person we need running this country. compassionate conservative.

Agreed --- he kinda gets lost when he's disrupted, and sometimes his timings a little off.
