For obvious reasons America does not need this. We have more pressing problems than getting even.

The pressing problems were largely created my this administration run amuck. Bush has said many times, this nation is a nation governed by the rule of law.
It's not about getting even, if it were, you wouldn't have so many 'pubs calling for Bush to stand under oath and an investigation. It's about upholding the rule of law, about holding leaders accountable, about setting precedent, and reestablishing the source of power in this country, the people.
It's interesting that you can't see how lame that excuse is when set next to the principles laid out by the founders. It's a defacto endorsement of tyranny, nothing... and I do mean nothing more.
It's not Bush hatred that drives this among thinking people, as much as you would like to believe that convenience, it's a patriotic insistance that the rule of law be followed without exception. It's an adherence to the principles the founders laid out, that gov't, left to it's own devices is inherently against the people. It's our duty and responsibility to the preservation of this country and to individual freedom to pursue this to it's natural conclusion.
As was said so many time by party loyalists like you during the debates on the patriot act... "if you've done nothing wrong, what are you worried about"? Live by the sword, die by the sword. You don't have the luxury of having it both ways to your benefit.
Pick a position, and stick to it.... it's called conviction.
