Acceptable Sources of Information...
In this age of electronic media where blogs have, in a few short years, gained what at times seems an equal footing with traditional journlism... In an age when the age old political divide has widened into a seemingly unbridgable chasm... are there any sources of information and news that are acceptable to a majority of people?
Far too often in debate the source is attacked at the expense of the information provided. As with all information delivered in a revenue driven media circus, there will be leanings at least, fallacious spin at worst. But as with all things, there is usually a kernal of truth somewhere.
I'd like to hear who folks think are the best providers of information and news. As devoid as possible of spin and getting as close to journalistic intergrity as possible in these modern times.
Please be realistic. Fox isn't gonna fly, neither is Democracy Now or Air America.

As far as I figure no where unless you experience the situation, event, person yourself. I don't think you can get "news" from anywhere without some sort of spin, twist, bend, bias, or whatever.

I agree for the most part. However, I'm not looking for the perfect source... just acceptable. Ones that won't result in the baby (information) being tossed out with the bathwater (trashing of the source as not credible).
btw, welcome to AWE Chris

Please stop... I'm asking for input. I'm not dictating a damn thing. I'm asking for opinions and have offered none myself. Do you have any ideas that are on topic? That is.. can you suggest any sources that might be acceptable to most people without being picked apart for being left biased or right biased?

[EDIT] Good point Back Atcha, removed, my apologies.
To get back on topic, one of the things I like to do is basically read everything I can get my hands on and ferret out the few nuggets of absolute truth you can manage by researching as much as possible.

I read a variety of sources and I will list them in a moment. I will say I have learned to go to the source references such as an intelligence report , scientific report or think tank. You can usually find these online and read it for yourself.
I think a variety of sources and viewpoints including international sources bring a broader perspective.
