China erects fence along N. Korea border
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061016/...a_nkorea_fence
HUSHAN, China - China has been building a massive barbed wire and concrete fence along parts of its border with
North Korea in the most visible sign of Beijing's strained ties with its once-cozy communist neighbor.

Scores of soldiers have descended on farmland near the border-marking Yalu River to erect concrete barriers 8 to 15 feet tall and string barbed wire between them, farmers and visitors to the area said.

looks like the chinees aren't happy with NK. But i wonder if NK will bring china to the UN for erecting a fence. If you guys didn't know mexico has done this in response to the us extending it's fence resources across the border

I am new to this planet so please humor me. China can erect a fence. If America erects a fence there is talk of taking it to the U.N.????????........I am going back to Mars.

What I find sad is that the communist Chinese government was able to cut through the red tap and do this is under a week while we’ve been arguing over this for many months her in America.

Well there they have NO Communists leaders AGAINST it. Here we have NO Democrat leaders FOR it.

I wonder if China's motivation would be to stem the tide of refugees they anticipate following the UN sanctions? After all, they can’t go south.
Just a thought.

Of course no Democrats are for it. We can’t impede the rights on illegal immigrants to violate the laws of this country. That would be wrong. That’s why Mexico may take this to the UN. To give Democrats some credit though, it looks like they probably will let us build the thing finally.

The Chinese, for how much we critisize them, realize they need to become a more Western aligned nation in order to prosper. NK in no way reflects the concerns and goals of China; all Communist philosophy is not alike. Yep, I would also fathom that the Chinese are anticipating there will be a large influx of Koreans coming North to flee from the complete idiots running NK. Think about it, would you want to stay in NK and starve when the countries to the NORTH and SOUTH are doing fine, prospering economically, and really are not going to attack you. China and SK are just sitting there watching NK crumble into dust. Kim Il is a complete fool and starving his people to death (literally).

Yeah probably becuae the West fuels their economy and is turning them into a superpower. If they acted hostile, the West would likely put restrictions on their trade thus straining their economy. They know what their doing, besides, what does NK offer China? I would work with the West to If I was them, not to mention if they want to control the Asian Pacific Rim they don't want Japan to arm up.

In a way I'm glad to see it. I know living in North Korea has to be hell and I can understand why so many want to get out. But I hated reading all those reports of people giving up everything and trekking miles without food and water only to get into China and be handed immediately back to the N. Korean Army so they can be tortured and killed.
