Well, they and a number of others need to wake up when living here. This is an 'open' society, not closed like they want.

Lady, it goes beyond that because thier thinking is that the beliefs of Islam are more 'pious' or 'sacred' and supercede all other belief and value systems. Sorry, have to name names now...Hasidic Jews like to pull this sort of stuff too.

As you might have expected, I did a little research on this before posting anything. What may surprise you is what I'm about to say, seeing as I'm one of the most outspoken here about problems with and within Islam. But I also make every effort to be fair about what I say and do not just post or support everything that's "against Islam" or Muslims. Because to be honest, everything out there about Islam is not true.

At any rate, this claim of outrage apparently started as the result of a special report on The Middle East Media Research Institute. Now I usually find the information at this site to be pretty reliable. But, this particular dispatch doesn't name the website it retrieved this claim of "outrage" from. So, I did a bit more research.

Now, since there is no "hard evidence" that there is actually an Islamist website out there that is fomenting this alleged "outrage", I guess it's left to us to decide whether or not there actually any outrage and so far, I haven't been able to find anything from Muslims on this stopic other than denials that they are outraged.

So before everyone goes off, let's at least consider the possibility that there's something amiss in this claim. There's enough "real" outrage permeating the air these days and it does none of us any good to just take for granted every claim out there is legitimate, especially if there's no real evidence.

That seems to be another site dispelling the "outraged" claim. So far, everywhere I've been, the only source anyone has provided to support the claim of “outrage” is the MERMI site that doesn't provide a link to their alleged source. I've written to MERMI and asked that they make the website address available to the public so we can verify their claim directly from their source, but I guess we'll have to wait and see if they do or until someone comes across a Muslim site that actually spouts this outrage.

Until then, I'm not going to accept this as fact.

As stated at first, these are 'fringe elements' and I am not sure how much information will be obtained regardless; I would confidently say the mainstream Muslim community sees this as a bunch of hogwash. Kix, you are right in trying to find the source of all this. I do hold to my statements about extremists though.
