This is the problem with our nation today. Everybody wants instant this and instant that. If some solution doesn't produce an effect right now...as in yesterday...then it should not be considered. All the while, time marches on and we end up 30 years later in no better position than we were before. How short sighted is that?

Your TV and movie may have the MTV attention span, but real life is not like that. It takes time for everything. Everything you see and have today took planning and investment. Sometimes it has taken decades for you to see and have what you do today.

Get off the "if it doesn't bring down prices today it is no good" rhetoric. Nothing will do that not even the building of solar and wind farms. They take time to plan, get approval (and we know how long that part can take) and get built. Oil is no different but by making the effort it will ease the price on oil. By getting that oil to market in a few years will keep the price down in the future so we don't have a repeat of this past year or so. You gotta think ahead people. Think about it.

You don't have a clue do you? I can tell by reading your post. But then it is not your fault you sit by and let your feelings do your thinking for you. You have been trained to do that.

Now stop for a minute and think. Dont be a moron. We don't drill for oil using last century technology. We drill for oil using this century technology. We can now drill almost sideways. This means less of a footprint on the land needed to get at the oil. We could not drill sideways using last century technology.

Oil is used in so much more than your car and heating your home. Hell you probably have a home full of carpet that uses oil to make the fibers. You may even wear some cloths with fibers made from oil. You get to the mall on tires and or shoes made from oil. You probably even eat foods with oil byproducts in them or used to fertilize it to grow.

Yes, gas is the biggest use of oil but it is not the only use. And until you get off your ass and start living like an Amish family, you will always use oil. Think about it.
