No, I think Iraqis will defend themselves against terrorists. Arabs fight because they are an ancient people and divisions run deep. The modern fight amongst Arabs is more than likely the manipulation of these divisions by the powerful to take the focus off their brutal regime. The Palestinians, for example, are face to face with a possible peace. The supporters of Hamas and Hezbollah can't have that. They need a Palestinian vs Israeli conflict to continue to take the focus off their neglect of their own people. Stir hate for Israel so the hate doesn't blow back. Not that Israel doesn't bring much of this hate on themselves. The whole thing makes me very sad and tired.

You mean occupation, as in "it's America's fault"? No, I don't think the turmoil in the middle east is solely or even primarily caused by occupation. It's comes down to this, the Arabs have a commodity, we have the capitol and need for that commodity. In agreement with "their" leadership, we provide security and technology to keep that commodity flowing. We have absolutely no beef with "the people" nor they for us. The conflict comes when the radical elements of their societies use our cooperation as a means of instilling hate in order to take the focus off their own brutality. No great Satin, no brutal radical Islam.
